Hello all.

I have been lurking for many months now and finally registered today. This place has become addictive as I read thru reams and reams of posts as I debated which headphones to purchase. I have always listened to phones but never critically. This is about to change as I am starting to play guitar and needed a pair of phones to maintain my healthy marriage

.

After much deliberation I went with a pair of Alessandro MS1's. I placed my order for them March 3 with Houndog and was told that they were back-ordered. No problem I thought, I have my two main rigs to keep me occupied. But boy was I wrong. I sweated the days waiting and am happy to report that I just picked up my MS1's this AM. And sweet they do sound. Especially compared to my old AT ATH 0.5's which have done he mans work over the years but just don't compare to these new MS1's.

Anyhow, I'd like to thank everyone who, unknowingly, aided in my decision making process here. And, hopefully, time will permit me to contribute to this great forum here.

BTW, for those fellow Canadians who are thinking about ordering Allesandro products. I can tell you that my MS1's cost me just under $150 CAN total. I paid no duty. Just US exchange rate plus GST/PST and a $5 handling fee.

I just listened to Tim Pierce's Guitarland and am now listening to Ry Cooder and VM Bhatt outdueling each other on a Meeting by the River. I am very happy to report the sound is amazing. So good that I can't stand to put these down and throw on some test tunes to burn them in properly

Are you using the comfies that came with them? Consider cutting/punching a quarter sized hole (poor mans flats) to bring up the detail. Cheap mod and well worth it.

And congrats (and welcome officially to Head-Fi). The MS1s are one of the best deal in headphonedom.

Pneumonic, you've stumbled upon such a great site. It's filled with compassionate and caring audiophiles who are always willing to lend a hand or extend a hand of comfort. You'll make a lot of fine friends here. No doubt your life will be greatly enriched for having known them.

Now do you need a 60 watt amp? I know of a good one that might come pretty reasonable!

Sorry, I guess I shouldn't do that to a new fella. Seriously, welcome to head-fi.
