As the title says I have about 1k usd to spend on a dac/headphone amp. I have a few requirements. I want a unit that I can use my Swan mkiii with as well as senn hd650. So it has to be able to switch between the two. I look forward to your suggestions.

Audio-GD NFB-15.32 ($255+shipping) or NFB-11.32 ($300+shipping), both are DAC/Amps.
They come with USB and S/PDIF (optical & coaxial) inputs and a headphone amplifier that should be able to drive any headphone you get.
They also come with a separate line-out for connecting to your Swan speakers.
Not sure what headphones you should get?

Thank you so much for your suggestions. The NFB-28 looks to be what i am looking for. I have one question that you may be able to help me out with. As i stated before i have a set of Swan MKIII, active speakers that i want to use with the NFB-28. I was wondering if it is possible to ad a subwoofer to that system, and be able to use the volume knob on the NFB to control the sub, or does the volume knob only control the headphone amp portion of the unit? I hate adjusting the know on the sub, and the know on the swans to get them on the same level.

Do Swans have a port to connect the subwoofer? Because you can't connect them to NFB-28 directly.

Since Swans are active speakers, they do their own amplification, so NFB-28 is only used as a DAC with fixed output.
You'll have to use the knobs on the Swans and the subwoofer.

With my 15.32, the volume knob works with both the headphone amplifier and the (analog) RCA output.
