1964 Ears Adel IEMs

  So how is the U8 compare to the 1964 V8? Are they the same except that the U8 is Universal? I know the V8 has a lot of Bass, not sure about the new U8 though.

U8 is the universal version of V8 with ADEL module. The custom version of V8 with ADEL module is A8. Same drivers on all 3 versions.

U8 = Universal V8 + ADEL Module.
A8 = V8 + ADEL Module

Just a reminder that CanJam SoCal is going on this weekend in Costa Mesa at the Westin. If you're in the area, come on down and head to the booth. We have our full line up of IEMs for demo, along with Chord Hugo and Mojos to pair them with if you'd like. We're also doing demos of the future versions of the ADEL technology.

It's a great opportunity to support Head-Fi, while listening to all the goodies in the industry in one spot.

Attended canjam yesterday and got to say pretty impressed with the line up. Was torn between u12 mid/treble and u10 bass, until Mr. Ambrose informed me that I can dial bass with the manual ADEL module. Also he mentioned that U series iems can be retrofit with the "bubble" when they are available. That's very good news and allows me to buy with confidence. 64 Audio, can you confirm regarding the retrofit?

No. The largest tips that came with the FLC8 are the only ones big enough to give me a full seal. I need something big apparently. The setting of 18Hz makes no sense as there should be no music info there. Never in Car audio or headphones have I ever tuned so low but to clean up the mastered detail of a vinyl rip of DSOTM "On the Run" and "Time" it worked.  I watched my own vid and thought it makes no sense but I switched back to 31Hz as my lowest boost with multiple dB and "Q" variations and it only got back to potent and clear when I dropped the 1st slider to 18. Makes no sense but there it is....

Che15 yesterday at CanJam I spent some good time with the U12 and K10. I have to agree with your thought on K10, I auditioned these in 3 sittings to allow not oversaturate my ears. The U12 seemed to give an improved body over the music articulating details on instruments that I could not find on K10. The Empire Ears Zeus XIV came very very to replicate the U12.
The K10 unit is really an attractive design and feels very nice.
No doubt both tests were using stock cable as provided by the company in their retail package

I was able to try the U12 with the manual module

No doubt twister6 spent a lot of quality time with K10 a was able to sweet spot the K10 with his cable combinations

Pulled the trigger on the u12.

Checked with Mr. Ambrose again today and he said there is plan to sell a retrofit cable with the pump mechanism. I listened to the 2 driver "bubble" model and it sounded great, very clear and neutral. Looking forward to the retrofit. I also will send ADEL video to my uncle, who have hearing problem for a long time now, hope he will be able to make use of that soon. Exciting times for sure

Great review as always bro. Stupid question, do you have a thread dedicated to your reviews? I know I've missed some of your reviews, and since we are both bassheads, I'd love to watch more of your videos,especially to compare them to some of the top dogs like the U8.

Sorry while I'm speaking on Chris's behalf, but under the profile there is a link to reviews with a list automatically generated by head-fi, his is: http://www.head-fi.org/users/389304/reviews
