1964 Ears/ 64 Audio | ADEL A10/ U10/ A12/ U12 - New Flagship Discussion / Impressions Thread

It seems u12 is out. How much did they sell them.

The summer sale prices were / are 25% off of retail. Massdrop is running a bigger discount that just started today (may be US only, not sure) for some models. The U12's are already sold out on Massdrop but I believe they still have U10's available although that could change at any moment.

I just checked an the U12's are listed on the 64 Audio summer sale page again:

https://www.64audio.com/store/summer-sale

However, I think the U10's on Massdrop for $800 are a much better deal. I would choose the B1 module over the S1 module if it's still available.

These will probably go very fast on Massdrop, as it's about 43% off of retail for the U10s.

Why the B1 with the U10?

Why the B1 with the U10?

Some others gave feedback in the other thread, but I will agree with what they said there. You can think of it like the difference between a closed and open headphone. The S1 will give you more air, should improve the treble a bit while still maintaining very solid bass. I don't have my U10's yet to compare but overall the B1 seems preferred over the S1 except when isolation is super important.

Has anyone been able to compare differences between the A12 vs the U12? I couldnt find anything definitive.

They are essentially the same so depending on tips they should sound close to the same. With tip rolling you should get some minor differences whereas the custom versions would always sound the same based on a good seal. This is excluding all the changes from modules, cables and sources.

So the custom variety doesnt improve or change anything like soundstage, detail retrieval, or  sound signature by being perfectly molded to your ear?

That's probably subject to opinion and I don't have both in the same model to directly compare. I have the A12's but have struggled to get a good fit. I have the U6 and next week will have the U10. I find with good tips with the U6 I don't feel like I am missing anything in terms of isolation compared to the customs. In fact when I turn my head side to side or look up and down the U6 are physically quieter than the customs for me. YMMV.
