Come on into My Kitchen and They're Red Hot are some of the better ones in my opinion. i can only imagine how much beter it would sound on the 78 than the CD

On the other hand, 100 years from now that record will be worth $10,000+ at least (probably more) but the Sony R10 will be biodegrading somewhere.

Word.

True "collectors" are insane people anyhow. They pay exorbitant sums of money for things that really have no practical use. Not that I begrudge them that; I'm a wannabe collector myself (hee hee) but I don't think I'd spend that much on an article of the items that I collect...

Most who pay those prices have no intention of listening to the record.

I bet the winner will at least play the record once, then frame it. Nothing wrong with that, as the songs are available elsewhere anyway.

Makes a helluva lot more sense than 8 grand for a Misfits 45!

I've no doubt he'll give it a spin. It sure to have been previous played, anyway. Those 78 guys like to spin their rarities. Not like some anal-rententive fan boy with an unopened set of Babylon-5 cards.

On the other hand, 100 years from now, $4500 put into a conservative investment will probably be worth $250,000+ at least (maybe over $1 million) but we will all be biodegrading somewhere.

That record is real and that price is not bad. I hope the new owner is the kind of person who'll play this record and not store it away.
