16 vs 24 bit DAC

Hi,

I am looking at getting a USB DAC for use with my laptop. I notice that a lot of the <$200 AMP/DAC systems use 16bit DACs.
Is there a noticeable difference between 16 and 24 bit? I was looking at the bithead and one of the hotaudio DAC/amps (both 16), compared with the HIPPOhifi Bloat (24).

Would I be able to tell a differnce between the sets? I am thinking of getting the AKG k601 to use with one of the DAC/amps.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
