I thought about writing something lengthy and witty, something that would blow minds and shatter preconceptions. A piece so stunning in its effect, so vast in its impact, that it would profoundly change the lives of all who read it. A masterpiece, a magnum opus in head-fi articulation. A few paragraphs of text, which by their very existance would cause the spontanious manifestation of Orpheus systems in the living room of every head-fier worldwide.
Sadly for you all though, I'm feeling lazy so I thought that rather than do something so strenuous, I'd just sit here and type. See what I came up with on the spot as it were, spontanious and all that. This is it, not much I'll grant you, certainly not going to win the Hugo and Nebula awards for science fiction. Is it even worth you reading it? Possibly, not my place to judge whats worth your time. Although if you did take the time to read this then well done to you, you obviously payed attention to the educational bits in childrens television.
Where has my head-fi journey brought me in a year then? From earbuds to eargasms. From Apple to Stax and lots inbetween. I've learned a lot, but naturally, there is always more to learn (and of course to experience, mod, photograph and bruise wallets). What will the next purchase be? Will I ever succeed in creating a functional and practical surround sound headphone? What ARE the numbers? Will the electrostatic Floats always elude me? Why did Lockes legs actually start working again? Will I ever get something decent in terms of digital source or will I continue feed an ever increasing number of headphones from an Audigy2 ZS in perpetuity? Just how close to the top of my most wanted list is a reel to reel tape machine? Will I ever decide to sell ANY of my old gear? Will the team of monkeys with typewriters which run the machinations behind Jahn ever be revealed?
Some of these questions and many more besides will hopefully be answered as we all view with trepidation Season 2 of Duggeh@Head-fi. The premiere is on later tonight barring the eventually of transmission problems.
Id like to thank my fellow headfiers (I think I'm allowed to use the term fellow now arnt I?) for being the bunch of slightly crazy but very ace people they are. It is you and not the headphones that make this site such a great place to both learn and procrastinate. So I say unto you now. OMG LOLZ TBH. Thank you.
Now if you'll excuse me, I think I might go have another gin before bed.
