Hi all-

First post to Head-Fi! I have been reading many posts about various IEMs and want to buy a pair for around $100 to use with my iPod 3rd generation nano. For background, I previously owned the Etymotic ER6's and had then for about 2 yrs until one phone went out a few months ago

. I recently bought JVC HA-FX66, but they just aren't cutting it- uncomfortable after a while and fall out when I jog.

I'm not an audiophile

, but I do enjoy listening to music. I'd like a set of phones with good SQ and decent base. I listen mainly to indie and electronic but also like classic rock and pop rock. I loved the sound isolation of the Ety's (which is why I got them), but they are just too delicate! I need something more durable. I also want phones with good isolation, mainly for use at the gym to block out noise, and that can also stay put in my ears while jogging (on a treadmill).

I've been looking at the Audeo PFEs and Head-Direct RE0s. Can anyone attest to usability at the gym? Are they comfortable and do they stay put? How are the microphonics and isolation? Any other suggestions for IEMs around $100? I'd love to get some high-end phones but just can't afford it right now.

Thanks!

Maybe a moderator could move this thread to the Portable/IEM forum where it would get better attention.
