Hello eveyrbody and thank you for choosing to read my thread. I really want a very portable headphone set up that is not very bulky. Can anybody help me?

Here is what I want:

-NOT IPOD (Too bulky and afraid someone will steal it)
-FLASH (4 GB should be enough but i think can live with 2 GB if no 4GB available)
-AM/FM Radio (I want to use the radio option to listen to talk show, news, sports and stuff when I dont feel like listening to music)
-PORTABLE (REALLY Portable, like I can put it in my pocket easily; needs to be much smaller than iPod)
-Best sound quality available with these features (I will not use with headphone amp. for headphones maybe KSC75 or if i get more money then SR60)
-About $100 (I can buy from eBay but I dont want to get a fake product)

Does anything like this exist??

Thank you.

I would recommend the Meizu M3. I use mine alot for FM radio it has great reception and sound

It does everything in your list except for AM radio. I don't think there is AM radio on any flash player.

Thank you very much for replying to the thread!

Meizu M3: Looks too much like the IPOD. Also, it looks "bulky' because it is too long. Is there anything smaller (it's thinness is great but it is very long)?

Which iRiver?

Is there any HDD MP3 player that has AM/FM tuner?

Keep an eye open for the iRiver ifp-799. 1 GB flash plus FM. Much better SQ than the Shuffle IMHO and it has a display. it also has very good EQ functions. Often available around $100. They come and go.

there aren't any good players with AM/FM radio. Only FM.

How about Creative Zen V Plus? It is a bit thick, but very compact.

Also, look at the iRiver Clix or iRiver S10

Okay I can do only FM.

The Creative Zen V Plus is too thick and not portable enough for me. It seems way too bulky

To save on cost I dont really need video support. I dont like the large exposed screen of the clix and having to click on the faceplate on all 4 edges which are far apart. The S10 looks GREAT but how does it SOUND and drive headphones?? It is just a little expensive...but that is what I call portable!

iRiver ifp-799 is too small in storage space for me (I want at LEAST 2 GB)

Oh, I think I saw the Clix2. Now I am looking at these for SOUND and driving headphones:
iRiver Clix
iRiver S10
iRiver U10

actually, it seems implied from dap.db there haven't been and currently arn't any DAP's or PMP's with AM radio tuning. It just not one of the search options at all, even though there is fm tuning, satellite radio, and DAB

the U10 and Clix are the same thing, in essence. the clix is the updated version, with a larger capacity and a slightly different interface.

iRiver Clix is reported to have some great sound quality and would have no problem driving either the KSC75's or SR60's.

I looked at the Creative Zen V Plus in person at a store and it looked a lot smaller than I thought. I MAY be able to live with it but is it that much better for FM tuner and sound quality and driving headphones than:

iRiver Clix 1st GEN
iRiver S10

Also must work with Windows Vista

There are some 'used and new' Sony NW-S705s at Amazon.com for $85
They're only 2GB, but have FM radio and excellent sound quality. I have the 4GB version and even the supplied headphones are surprisingly good. The software is slow and temperamental, but the SQ is great. Wide soundstage, nice punchy bass with a very efficient equalizer that you can pretty much tweak to any sound you want. The reception for the radio is really good too.

Check out this link at the iriver America online store. Click on "Refurbished Players". They have refurbished T10s with 1 GB flash memory and FM tuner for $75 with a 90 day warranty. The T10 runs for about 30 hours (they say up to 45) on a single AA battery (like my ifp series) which is really great. You never run out of power.

That's a good deal.

1GB is too small.

Meizu M6(not M3)? 4GB its only $100, got FM radio I think and the size is similar to a credit card. The sound quality is also great.

Sorry no meizu because they look way too much like the IPOD 9even the M6. Also it looks like Meizu tries to copy (rip-off?) IPOD designs? I am skeptic about the sound quality from a manufacturer like Meizu compared to maybe iRiver or Creative. Is it really that good? Also it looks all the Meizu on eBay are located all the way in China and have expensive shipping?
