0404USB for iMac -> STAX SR-5

I'm interested in an external DAC for my iMac to my NAD 710 reciever which is feeding a SRD-7/SR5. Would a 0404USB be a noticable upgrade in sound connected by USB or would I be better off with something like the Fubar II? Right now my iMac is connected via a Tributaries mini to RCA cable from the comps headphone out.
