I usually wear headhpones when i play games and im looking into buying a new pair. I currently have the senn hd 555's but fell they lack in the bass department. IF someone could point me at a good pair of headphones(preferrebly open air) i would appriciate it. I dont wana spend more then 250 if possible. Ive heard the 580's and 595's are good but are tehy worth buying.

Better than the hd555 can? Even though it's closed, I'll recommend the dt770/80. Perfecto for gaming(great soundstage, even better imaging/3d positioning*), with that niceeeee bass that makes gaming all the more l33t. Why are you looking for an open can, in particular?=]

*I've been called a wallhack many times using the dt770/80's. People just won't believe me when I say "IT'S MY HEADPHONES!!"[/size]

*edit* Check out my review comparing the hd555 to the dt770/80's. You might like=] x2 the ultrasone recommendation, but that's based on what I've read of them, and not what I've heard.

I use the 555's for gaming and I find I can hear a lot of detail. I have not heard the 595's so I don't how much better they would be.

I'm guessing you are not planning on using a dedicated / portable amp so the higher impedance headphones like the 250 ohm Beyers are out. The DT 770 is closed while the DT 880 is open.

I found that there is a 32 ohm beyerdynamic DT 860 and these are also open. Have I found a match for you? There are around $260 new.
