Woooo the normal cheap iPad got a SoC upgrade to the A12.

Thanks to the better exchange rate, it's $30 cheaper here through Apple....might be time to finally retire the Air 2 (when it dies.....if it dies...I'll wait for a sale =P). It's been with me for what...20% of my life? Oh god I feel old.

Hmm the A14 doesn't look like much of an improvement over the A13, but they didn't really go into power consumption so we'll have to wait for the iPhone event to see if that's where they spent most of the node improvement on (if it's a typical ~30-40% power OR performance node jump).

Speaking of PC's, another GPU cycle means another wave of hand me down GPUs from friends that still game. Ampere is actually exciting because price to performance has finally moved a bit huh?

I'll stick with the RX580 even though I could get a free upgrade to a 1080ti or 2070 super. All I'm looking forward to is Atelier Ryza 2 which should be easy to run.

I kind of want to play Cyberpunk but as I grow older I don't really like stabby stabby and shooting enemies (except bonking cute looking slime monsters with a staff). I think the game would be too graphic for me. XD

Oh god I'm old.

R9 390 team FTW.

Never felt like selling it, as it's my first GPU purchase. Might put it on display or something.

I hope the next hour generation also has a large jump in performance. 3000 series isn't enough for me to want to upgrade to, but it's pretty close.

Also hope 4-core cpu performance rises significantly compared to being mostly stuck for the past few years. Need less laggy Photoshop brush strokes for them needlessly massive brushes.

They do sometimes die eventually, I think my mom's iPad 2 died after 6 years? Then again I sold my iPad 3 after 7 years and it still worked great so... It's anybody's guess. Spending that much of your life with one tech item makes it hard to get rid of!

Heh I'd take that kind of upgrade if I had the option! Then again I just upgraded to an RX580 earlier this year over my old HD4870 Kalbee gave me ~5 years back so I could power my ultrawide monitor lol

Ryza was pretty weird to run, it doesn't run at high FPS even with my 2070 S. Pretty strange.
