so... anyone got what actually happened in the world of NieR: Automata?

I'm totally confused...
What are androids and what's their purpose? Where do they come from?
Were there ever any humans to begin with? (considering you might have committed genocide in the original NieR)

SPEEEEEEEEEEED!!!!  \(>.<)/

If I ever get a speeding ticket, this music better be the only reason.

Speaking of speeding tickets, I got my first one a few days ago >_< I wish it was listening to this song too....
Stupid unmarked speed camera catching me doing 10mph over when the highway goes from 50mph to 35 around a corner >_>

*Wants to take a nap before a class*

*Sets 7 different alarms, split between two fully charged phones*

*Still stressed out because I might sleep through all of them...*

Poi...
frown.gif

like anything else, it takes training.  I started being unable to sleep all night when I had some important meeting or a plane to catch the next day, the made up stress in my mind would keep me awake almost all night.
after a few months of being a train engineer with the most BS shifts you can imagine(no continuity, night or day work depending only on demands, not on how I was a human being), I learned to sleep anytime, anywhere, for any length of time. your brain just has to experience the "stressing situation" enough times to realize there is basically zero consequence even if you don't wake up. once the brain starts believing it's a normal situation, it becomes a normal situation(it's both a perk and a flaw). after that you ascend sleeping godhood. "but supreme leader, you have to enter the secret code to stop the nuclear arsenal to activate and destroy the planet 6 times over", and you're like "look I have 2 hours so first I'm taking a nap".
biggrin.gif

I think it's also a trained skill to be able to wake up on command to only one alarm no matter the time or how much sleep you get. I think the only time I slept through an alarm was with Evee when we were in Japan and got very little sleep and the phone was across the room so it was pretty quiet.

I'm really good at my skill but not the whole sleeping anywhere any time. I'm pretty envious and really wish I could just get to the point where I can sleep wherever like you can, but alas....

Oooooh so I bought some STAX SR-Lambdas and an SRD-6 energizer back in December from Hifido for $67 plus shipping. Finally got around to trying them and they actually work except for the broken headband! Good thing I got a broken lambda back in Japan for 5k yen! Man oh man I love how cheap lambdas are! But I kinda wish these didn't work so I could tear the cable out and use it on my other set of SR-lambda which sound better (probably because they have their pads put on backwards tbh) but oh well! Stax mafia ftw :D

But then there's also the thing with
the report 9S finds in the "God Box" that says android cores are made from machine lifeform cores and being a SS classified document, no android is suppose to know that....

Then again, I might be overthinking this... Yoko Taro writes his plot based on maximum feels delivery, it's entirely possible that there's no complete picture to begin with.

This is how the war between androids and other machines is sustained. You know the virus/backdoor 9S finds? That's built into both machines and androids so no one side can win the war.
This keeps the androids preoccupied so that they will survive as a race without falling into depression and eventually extinction due to the knowledge that Project Gestalt has failed.

The androids also don't want to accept the fact that machine lifeforms (outside of themselves) are becoming more and more human.

Daaaamn.:frowning2:

I usually have the habit of driving under the speed limit, much to the frustration of every other person on the highway (and in my car), but much to the pleasure (or not) to the police. People keep coming so close to my tail and such, but hey, a few times a police car came out of nowhere and stopped random people who were just a bit too fast and I often see camera flash when I least expect them. I'm always sure I'm safe in these times. :p

-----------
There was a tone when I took the train and I would sleep in it. Stupid sunbonnet I used as an alarm wouldn't ring on rare occasions, but as soon as the automated voice speaks for they do, I break from my dreams. Every. Single. Time.

Now, I just lack sleep in general so I tend to doze over. :/

------------
Can I also have some Lambdas for 67 bucks as well???!! :D

Whew done with the main endings of NieR: Automata, I'll probably come back to it and play around some more whenever I'm really bored, but otherwise I'm very satisfied with it.

At $50 currently on sale I think it's a bit too expensive for the PC version due to the inconsistent performance, when it goes for $30 or so it'll get a thumbs up from me if it remains at its current state. Hopefully novideo and ayymd will help things along but I imagine they're preoccupied with Mass Effect.

Itching to put this 1070 to good use....might give Witcher 3 a try...if only there was a mod to swap out the Geralt model for 2B. X(

Finished Cardcaptor Sakura TV series recently. Enjoyed the ride very much :D
Still have two movies to watch, probably gonna postpone until receiving new monitor poi :p

Btw some of the elements were probably kinda ahead of its time, like yuri, BL, student-teacher relationship, etc

ED3 is catchy

Also, finally started Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu.

The presentation, dialogue design, etc reminds me of G Reconguista in some funny ways lol. But a few episodes in and now I am liking the main characters, especially Yan.

Need to watch it someday! That was my childhood but somehow I stopped watching it on TV (stopped airing? I moved and we didn't have cable? Who knows).

Ugh, light is evil for sleep! I remember NLNH and I went to Japan and the curtains only covered 2/3 of the sliding glass window so we both got up at 5:30 after being up until midnight or later T_T That's when I went to Daiso and bought a blindfold for $1. That's the best freaking dollar I've ever spent. :D
I'd argue while it wouldn't land you a job, being able to sleep a lot and be rested might help you maintain your performance at a job during tough times, there's that perhaps?

Haha if I see another one and don't have the money for it, sure! Though in fairness shipping was $33 and by the time I put the donor headband on, it's a $150 lambda which is within range of my other lambda set with the SRD-7 and a janky cable I got for $200 locally.

As I and other people have said, sometimes driving under (or even at the speed limit) can be more dangerous than speeding if the rest of traffic is going fast because people will make reckless decisions to get around you in a hurry and mess themselves up. I've been in areas where every car is going 10MPH over except one or two and they were more of a harm to the general area than everyone else speeding. But hey, going slow is better on gas mileage so that's a plus!
I just called my insurance agent and at the very least I'd pay an extra ~$700 in insurance premium increases so I'm gonna go fight it in court and try to get it deferred or wiped completely since it's my first ticket.

Ouch, I'd imagine the announcer thing probably comes on more than you'd ever like if it's anything like any of the public transit I've ever been on :/
And lack of sleep is no good! I'm one to talk but getting more sleep really isn't that hard and feels much better!

Haha as above, if you want the $67->150 lambdas I can let you know if I see another set XD

No place to put new headphones (*cough* I mean earspeakers, sorry. ) so I'll probably not buy anything rightnow, but if I can get something functioning, then maybe I'll give it a go!

Yeah...driving at the speed limit on highways is indeed the one time when it's safer to go over, but still, I try to stay under whenever I can. There are no warnings for these cameras where I live now so they can be anywhere. I often see flashes on the high way and I'm like the only one who didn't break the speed limit when I check. XD

Sometimes I feel like people are just idiots though, it's night time and we are in a blizzard/lightening storm, and people sometimes still drive above 110 mph. Da heck what's the rush???!!! QAQ
