Hi, this is my first post

I'm just getting into the world of head-fi and am a bit bewildered, I'm looking for a set of headphones/cans or in-ear earphones for under £210, sensitive enough to be used on an iaudio X5. Looking for clarity, big dynamics, deep tight bass, pin sharp focused treble and a natural earthy midrange, just overall outstanding! am I asking too much

What would be your first choice?

Not many headphones in this range that people would suggest using unamped out of a portable. Maybe Audio Technica A900?

Ok so it may go a bit over when you add postage, but these are great, one for portable use, one for home. When you get a bit more cash together invest in a PA2V2, the run at like $60 shipped and would be a great investment.

Would recommend the Shure E5c's... Check eBay. I let mine go for £200 on eBay (Needed some money) brand new and boxed (Replacement set from Shure).

I would reccomend getting a small portable amp and a nice pair of headphones. As for what kind of headphones and what amp...

Then you'd have money for a AT900 or a K271 which sound like that meet you sonic needs. Mostly just browse around. You don't need an amplifier but it makes the music much more enjoyable.

Get the stax portable set-up. Comes with free amp, and just about makes your budget (particularly if you get it from Japan. £250 over here, £160 from Japan)
