Hi all,

I joined this forum as I'm buying some new headphones soon (upgrading from Sennheiser HD212 Pro) and would like to know which of my choices will offer me a good, deep bass whilst not sacrificing highs or mids (or sacrificing as little as possible)...

My choices:

- Grado SR80
- Beyer Dynamics DT250-80
- Sony MDR-7506 (I was leaning towards these)
- Sennheiser HD280 Pro

Thanks in advance, any comments are helpful as I've had so many differing opinions on these cans. I've read the reviews here of the Sonys and Beyers but I'm still very unsure

Hi i have a pair of SR80s and loved them. I generally used these straight out of my ipod, I wouldn't say the bass was really deep but was plenty for me and my music (indie/alternative rock and occsionally dance e.g. basement jack etc)

I haven't heard any of the others so am unable to offer you any advice

Thanks, my only worry with the Grados is the frequency response doesn't go as low as either the Sony MDR's or the Sennheiser 212's I have now. I know I can't hear below 20Hz, but I've always thought that the lower frequencies were good to feel. But would I really miss the 10-20Hz range if I chose the Grados?

My worry with the Sonys is that the highs are reportedly too sharp?
