    IE8 Distortion???

I've recently got a new (replacement) pair of IE8's delivered after my old ones died. They've only had about 5/6 hours play time so far but the high frequencies in the right ear are pretty distorted while the left ear lacks highs. Could this be down to lack of burn in or something more serious?

Sennheiser IE8: The Search for the Perfect Tips

As most Sennheiser IE8 owners know, getting the right tips for their IE8s is one of the most important features because it changes the sound quality more than any other IEM. As a proud owner, I have tried multiple tips, seeing how each tip affects the sound quality. Usually, I've found that the...

    First amp advice

Hey guys, looking for advice for a decent desktop setup for use with some HD595s with potential future HD600/650s or K701s. Posted a month back for thoughts on the HD595 to K701 move, but funds became tight and i've started to favor the sennheisers due to my love of my 595s and IE8s and having...

Closest Custom IEM to Sennheiser IE8

Well, I finally managed to kill my IE8's.  As I was conducting the choir at my church, I took a step backward and heard a "crunch."  Apparently, IEM's shouldn't live dangling around your neck.  So now, out $300, I talked my wife into letting me spend another $1000;-).   I have narrowed my...

    IEMs vs. Full Sized

I've only listened to full size headphones, but I am curious to try IEM's, especially for portable use in quiet places.  I have the Sony XB 500's right now as well an Equation Audio RP-22x.  How will IEM's be for someone used to full sized headphones? Also, the bass actually makes my ears...

    Sennheiser IE8 questions

I bought a pair a couple of months ago and at first I was really disappointed and wanted to return them (blasphemy!) but after hundreds of hours of burn-in my opinion of them changed completely: they sound great! I still can't get any of the standard tips to fit my ears very well, but until I...

    ADDIEM to RE0, not impressed...

Well I've just upgraded (sort of...) from ADDIEM to RE0. I must say I'm not impressed. I still have a burn-in period yet to spend but as a first impression; RE0 is not a huge leap from ADDIEM at neither mids or highs, there is just a little difference, ADDIEM is a very clean IEM, RE0 is just...

Sennheiser IE8's ~~ Should I just jump righ in?

Hey all!   I started a thread a week or two ago asking about custom IEM's, but ive decided to go universal for now, considering that im far from being done growing and the fact that i am relatively new to headphoning (new word?).   So ive searched around and have looked at reviews for...

Best earphones under 400 for recording?

Hi, I used to do a lot of mixing and recording until I ran out of ideas. I got back into it recently after I discovered how to properly use Ultrabeat in Logic Pro and I got a new idea in my head. Here's the deal though, I've been using Audio-Technica ATH M50s to record, but I soon realized I...

    DBA-02's vs IE8's

I have the difficult choice between the DBA-02's or the IE8's. I can get them both for relatively the same price, and I'm wondering which is better.   I've read tons of review of both, and can't make up my mind :P   The IE8's use the over-the-ear design that i've not tried before, is it...

Looking to upgrade my RE0s; I need more bass.

Pretty much I want to upgrade my RE0s.  They sound good with the metal I listen to, but when I switch to hip-hop or anything else I literally feel bored.  I want something that thumps and is fun to listen to; just a little more lively than the RE0s.  I mostly listen to metal and hip-hop, but...

thoughts on IE8 and Klipsch Custom 3

I'm not going to call this a review because I simply do not have the time to do a proper A/B comparison between these two phones and honestly that is what I would have to do to compare the sound quality between these headphones with my untrained ears; yes, they are that close.  I will say that...

£120 [$186] to spend on headphones. I would appreciate suggestions that fulfil the following categories:

    - Excellent sound - Attractive design - Comfortable fit - £120 budget [give or take]   Currently looking at the Bose AE2 as they fulfil the above categories. I am aware that their sound quality does not match their price tag, but I am unsure what other options are available. I've heard...

Fake or real: Sennheiser IE 7 s

When you have a certain taste in music, you develop quite an ear for it. And at that point you find yourself hating poor quality equipment, which inevitably means you're doomed for the rest of your life in spending quite a lot of money.   As a result of my Shure earphones going walkabout, it...
