Because the original conversation for XDuoo X3 was in a completely different thread for a player from 2013 until several pages in I've created this thread purely for the new XDuoo X3 DAP. The company XDuoo have gained quite an amount of momentum with their previous XDuoo X2 DAP on Head-fi. Is XDuoo X3 that upgrade we've all been waiting for?

Featuring dual micro sd card slots and using the well received Cirrus Logic CS4938 DAC chip those specifications look extremely impressive! Available in three colours: Black, Silver and Gold!

XDuoo X3 is released now for $110 USD (Penon Audio). Can also be found on eBay for a little more (around $150 USD), I've also seen the XDuoo on Aliexpress.

People are receiving their X3 units as you read this so stay tuned!

Great initiative! I noticed the same in the beginning of the other thread when first coming there.

I'm really looking forward to more impressions and comparisons with this player :)

Penon Audio is currently showing X3 as 'in stock' for anyone interested.

Edit: I just tried adding X3 to my cart, it appears out of stock still.

Oh low stock must be to blame, it was around $105 on eBay a few days ago, now it's up to $150.

Yes, you're right, there's 4 sellers currently on eBay USA with X3 in stock for around $150 USD.

Hopefully Penon keep their price as originally planned.

My XDuoo X3 is actually in transit to me as I'm typing, so we'll have some more impressions and pics soon.

I can compare to FiiO X3II and the Xeulin 770c, plus answer any questions.

I suspect it wont be in  same league as Fiio X5?

I think it will come down to preference. I actually know a member who preferred XDuoo X2 over X5II, comes down to personal opinion. I know XDuoo X2 for me sounded quite clean and was skilled at separation and soundstage. I don't see why XDuoo X3 can't give more of the same, while X5II is a little warm.

The amount of features this little X3 unit has is quite a lot for the money.

I was actually reading one of the eBay listings, there's loads of information listed about it.

For anyone interested you can read the eBay listing where those photos came from: (click here)

Anyway, we'll know more very soon.
