@F700 it's always a pleasure to discuss our individual impressions.
First, no, it is not the Zen Pro, it's the OG Zen. It may seem grey because of the photo angle, but it's actually black.
Second, I did try wide bore tips, namely, Azla Sednaearfit Light and Light Short. Unfortunately, while they did expand the stage a bit, the effect on the highs were not enough to reach my desired level of satisfaction.
Regarding source, yeah I did have to crank the volume up a bit compared to my tribrid, but there were still plenty of margin left. It isn't as insanely power hungry as some of my other set, namely, the ION-2S. That requires the most crank up of volume among all my others.

I found the Final e-tips to be inappropriate for the ZEN and regarding my preferred sound presentation. The Symbio W Peel fixed the treble « issue » you seem to experience. Then, yes, it’s also a question of comfort with any tips added to the equation. Still, at USD 10.- for 2 or 3 pairs depending on the models, playing with these Symbio tips sporting a slightly wider aperture might improve the treble and widening the stage a bit. It’s not a guarantee, but worth a try, I guess.
Finally, about your source and amplification, do you need to crank up the volume to get satisfaction with the ZEN or do you have some margin left?
I dare asking questions and adding remarks in this comment section, because I love my ZEN and It’s a pleasure to discuss how to improve the already fantastic tuning realized by Dunu.
Thanks for your review and the nice pictures
