Hmm, you describe it as U-shaped, which would be like the currently popular **** 4in1, or even the older Philips S1, or JVC FX-40. Do these compare to any of these respected U-shaped IEMs?

I haven't heard any of the in-ears you mentioned. Talkin' 'bout another u-shaped in-ear in the same price bracket, the Xiaomi is better than the similarly priced Sennheiser CX300 and CX200 - faster bass, less metallic treble, less distant mids, more detail retrieval, better separated soundstage.
