How do these compare to the ROCK Zircon?

@sztomi90 Thanks for the kind words. It's interesting how very differently people can hear things - and one of the things I've learnt to appreciate from Head-Fi is just how very differently people do hear things. Some of it is surely just a matter of personal taste, and I'm sure some of it is because of natural physical variations between us. I certainly have other earphones which have more mid-range presence than these, but swapping back and forth, I'm not hearing anything missing - a bit less emphasis, maybe, but it's still there and clearly audible to me. The up-side of this, for my ears at least, is that I find these phones incredibly non-fatiguing, and my relaxed, non-fatigued ears listen for longer, and enjoy more music.
My preferred over-ear headphones are my Sennheiser HD598 - with their characteristic Sennheiser sound, so that probably tells you a bit about the kind of presentation I enjoy.

After more break in and getting used to them....I start to fall in love with them more and more. The vocals came in fron very nicely too. The bass is less boomy but still very impactful, which I enjoy to bits. I dont think I would need any eq. And btw I thnk you are right when saying that they are more relaxing. The only thing that frustrates me a bit is that it can heart my right ear a bit....it might be that the outer part of my ear where the big housing sits is smaller.....maybe I try to put in another way or change that tips to get a more comfy fit.

I would agree with most of what you said.....I have them for some days now....but coming from a philips she3595 I can say that they are more dark to the point where I feel something is missing...especially with powerful vocals. I started burning them in with the 1more app. Some say they will improve after break-in. I really hope they will....
