Cable: 0.38 ohm, 4-core cable. Metal divider and connectors, but very easy to tangle. Highly recommended to switch to a 3rd party cable.





Build: Entirely metal shell, nozzle has a lip and a metal filter. Size is slightly bigger than average, 2pin connector is slightly recessed.

Fit: Good, doesn’t need readjustment from time to time. Might be too big for people with really small ears though.

Comfort: Good for shorter periods, but with longer sessions it is starting to get a bit uncomfortable due to the shape not being fully ergonomic for my ears.

Isolation: Slightly above average since it covers my entire ears.

Setup: Schiit Asgard 3 (low-gain, volume around 8-9 o´clock),

Lows: Close to basshead levels of quantity but fortunately the quality is good enough that it isn’t too bloated. Both sub and mid-bass are elevated but is sub-bass focused.

Mid-bass: Metallica – fight fire with fire (01:11-01:52), quantity and texture are good but could be cleaner (faster/tighter). The (02:55-03:01) section with the chopper is hearable but not that clean.

Hiroyuki Sawano – Pretenders (01:18-01:47), very impressive texture and fun due to the quantity. Speed and tightness are good but could be faster/tighter.

Sub-bass: Djuro – Drop that bass (01:15-01:30), extends and rumbles very well. Punch quantity is good and very good texture but could be tighter/faster.

Will Sparks – Sick like that (03:08-03:22), very impressive texture and good quantity. Could be faster and tighter though.

Mids: Not really an iem for vocal lovers, yes, the timbre is natural (single DD FTW) but both male/female vocals are recessed, combined that with the early bass-shelf and high mid-bass it can occasionally (not on all tracks though) sound unclean.

Female-vocals: Hiroyuki Sawano – OldToday (01:25-01:52), instrument tonality and timbre are good but could be cleaner. Vocals are recessed and tonality is bottlenecked due to the bass making the tonality warmer than it should be, timbre is natural though.

Yuki Hayashi – MightU (01:58-02:55), both vocal and instrument tonality lack a lot of brightness as well as recessed vocals. Timbre is good, but overall, it could be cleaner and have more clarity.

Evanescence – Bring me to life (01:18-01:35), a bit shouty vocals.

Hiroyuki Sawano – Crescent (02:07-02:26), shouty and peaky.

Male-vocals: Hiroyuki Sawano – Pretenders (00:57-01:17), tonality and timbre for vocals/instruments are accurate but recessed vocals.

Hiroyuki Sawano – Scapegoat (00:57-01:17), tonality and timbre for vocals/instruments are accurate but recessed vocals.

Treble: Linkin Park – Shadow of the Day (03:24-03:42), electric guitars are a bit sharp and fatiguing.

Deuce – America (03:03-03:16), a bit peaky and chaotic.

Hiroyuki Sawano – Lose (string version) (01:22-01:59), Cello tonality, timbre, texture are great but could be cleaner. Violin timbre and treble-extension are great but tonality could be a bit brighter and cleaner.

Hiroyuki Sawano &Z (02:18-02:57), tonality is decent, timbre is good but a bit unclean.

Soundstage: Below average, narrow.

Tonality: V-shaped, pretty good balancing between warmth and brightness but note-weight is a bit on the (slightly) thicker side. Timbre is natural.

Details: Slightly below average for this price range.

Instrument Separation: Separation and imaging are slightly below average.

Comparisons:

IEM: Blon BL-03 (mesh mod), Radius Deep mount tips L, cable B3 4.4mm

Bass: Djuro – Drop that bass (01:15-01:30), extends lower and rumbles more on the T500P. Punch quantity is also a bit higher and slightly more textured on it, but tighter and faster on the 03 as well as cleaner. Tonality is more accurate (and more natural timbre) on the 03 (lacking air on the T500P).

Hiroyuki Sawano – Pretenders (01:18-01:47), a lot cleaner on the 03 due to the faster and tighter bass and a lot more natural timbre.

Metallica – fight fire with fire (01:11-01:52), tighter and faster bass on the 03 but cleaner on the T500P due to the separation.

Mids: Hiroyuki Sawano – OldToday (01:25-01:52), vocal and instrument tonality and timbre are a lot better on the 03, also sounds cleaner (veiled on the T500P). Detail wise the T500P is bottlenecked by the bass bloat and lack of air.

Evanescence – Bring me to life (01:18-01:35), peakier and more fatiguing on the T500P.

Hiroyuki Sawano – Scapegoat (00:57-01:17), a lot cleaner and better vocal/instrument tonality and timbre on the 03. Slightly veiled on the T500P.

Treble: Linkin Park – Shadow of the Day (03:24-03:42), electric guitars are a bit sharper on the T500P and overall tonality lacking clarity and air.

Hiroyuki Sawano – Lose (string version) (01:22-01:59), Cello tonality, timbre, texture and clarity are better on the 03. Violin tonality, timbre, texture and clarity are better on the 03, but better treble-extension on the T500P.

Hiroyuki Sawano &Z (02:18-02:57), a lot better tonality and timbre on the 03 while also being cleaner.

Technicalities: Shiro Sagisu – Hundred years war (02:24-02:57), slightly wider on the T500P but deeper on the 03. Imaging is better on the T500P but detail and separation are similar. Timbre is a lot better on the 03.

Overall: The 03 is a lot better tuned and more natural sounding than the T500P. The T500P is better on busier/faster tracks where the technicalities on the 03 can’t keep up. Hard to recommend the T500P over the 03 seeing the price difference, but if you are a basshead you might prefer the bassier T500P over the 03.



IEM: Fiio FH3, Final Audio Type E tips LL, cable A3 4.4mm

Bass: Djuro – Drop that bass (01:15-01:30), extends a bit lower on the T500P and also rumbles more. Punch quantity is similar and has similar texture, but a lot cleaner on the FH3 due to the faster and tighter bass. Tonality is slightly more accurate on the FH3 but better timbre on the T500P.

Hiroyuki Sawano – Pretenders (01:18-01:47), more quantity on the T500P but cleaner on the FH3 due to the faster and tighter bass, texture is similar though. More tonally correct on the FH3 but better timbre on the T500P.

Metallica – fight fire with fire (01:11-01:52), a lot cleaner on the FH3 due to the faster, tighter and less bass quantity.

Mids: Hiroyuki Sawano – OldToday (01:25-01:52), instrument tonality is slightly better on the T500P and better timbre on it as well, although a lot cleaner on the FH3. Vocal tonality is better on the FH3 and is a lot more forward, although timbre is better on the T500P.

Evanescence – Bring me to life (01:18-01:35), shoutier and more fatiguing on the T500P.

Hiroyuki Sawano – Scapegoat (00:57-01:17), vocal and instrument tonality and timbre are a lot better on the T500P but cleaner and more detailed on the FH3.

Treble: Linkin Park – Shadow of the Day (03:24-03:42), sharper electric guitars on the T500P.

Hiroyuki Sawano – Lose (string version) (01:22-01:59), Cello tonality, texture and clarity are better on the FH3 but better timbre on the T500P. Violin tonality is slightly better on the T500P and a lot better timbre on it while texture, clarity and treble-extension are better on the FH3.

Hiroyuki Sawano &Z (02:18-02:57), slightly better tonality on the FH3 and cleaner and more detailed on it. Timbre is better on the T500P.

Technicalities: Shiro Sagisu – Hundred years war (02:24-02:57), wider on the FH3 and airier soundstage. Detail, imaging and instrument separation are better on the FH3 but better timbre (and coherency) on the T500P.

Overall: The FH3 is the more versatile, cleaner and better tuned iem (although worse timbre). The T500P is better for bassier genres like hip-hop but otherwise it is hard to recommend it.



Conclusion: Bass is good and all, but in the current state of the market, I can’t recommend this when there are better iems out there for the same price or even cheaper. Thanks for reading.
