I look at the power supply with your link and there are so many options for voltage and amp. I thought it is user selectable, but you have to specifiy a particular voltage and amp in order to place the order? Which one to choose?
Thanks, so how about the amp draw selection, they range from 0.7A to 1.5A? Since voltage x ampere = power, why wouldn't you want to select the 16V x 1.5A draw one for maximum power?
Ah? I'm not sure what you're gunning at. The specs of the DAC are 15V/1A right? So 15V/1.5A is the only option you can choose.. there are no other 15V versions right ? Just the 15V/1.5A version is the one you need. For the D50 some other options are available. But for DX3 Pro just 15V/1.5A and it comes with the right cable and DC plug.
Sorry I'm reading it again and kind of assume now that your knowledge of electricity might be minimal. The voltage needs to be the same. The amperage needs to be same or higher than the specs of the device prescribes. The voltage is important for all components are designed to work at that voltage. Putting through a higher voltage might cause damage to the individual compononets. .
I understand that the upgraded power supply will improve the headphone amplifier function of the DX3 Pro. Should I also expect to see improvement in the DAC only performance as well?

I'm now waiting to see how it performs (but it's much more expensive).
