I did this mod with my LSA HP-2 headphones. You need 10mm felt protectors from the discount store. The ones at home building stores are not fluffy enough (they are felt but too smooth). These are what you want, don't go any bigger in size.

Did u remove bass carpet? Oh on lsa it’s a fixed cover on back so u can not make adjustments on bass the way I did- but you may be able to increase bass by playing around with Back cover

According to Ivan at Kennerton:

"In the Kennerton Gjallarhorn GH50 JME the ear-cup ports are made as in the article, one is closed (the back one) and one is open (the front one)."

Well I have no idea how Kennerton modified headphone about bass ports on the new model called GH50 JM Edition . The Flat fluffy dots I use are also different than the modded JM version by Kennerton now being sold- they use a higher foam dot not fluffy flat dots like mine. The flat fluffy dots are not hard but flexible so they really grab the wood and don't move. I understand some people tried modding and used hard dots and they dislarged and stuck to drivers and Kennerton can not be held liable for this- as some people tried to remove the hard fluffy dot from the driver after it stuck itself on the graphine driver and teared it- this is not covered by warranty and NOT what I used in first place.

Further- My fluffy flexible flat dots are very grippy to the wood and do not move once in place.The hard furniture dots are NOT advisable for modding at all. The Kennerton Mod uses FOAM and is glued to wood by Kennerton. They are smaller in size than my fluffy dots- at this point I have no clue to how it compares with my modded fluffy flat flexable dots- I will in a few days so I will keep everyone informed. I will say Kennerton tested the JM Edition and stand by it- we will see once I compare and share my impressions.

I dont know about bass mod if Kennerton said one is open one is closed from factory then that is correct and again I can not compare or say for sure - they know what they modded not me at this point. So take their word on mod.

Instead of 10, if we put 5 (for instance) well placed in between, what will be the change against your Mod ?

well 5 flat fluffy flexable dots doesnt cut the sounding reverb/echo off the horn as much as I liked so I upped it to 10 for ultra precision unheard of in stock form for me

But doing that Mod don’t reduce the 3D lively sound effect ?
The vividness and wide soundstage still remains or is reduced ?

By the way, did you notice any major sonic differences using a SE cable or a Balanced one ?

no these headphones just sound great on TRS 6.3 but I do have the Kennerton upgraded cable - its braided and sounds very smooth and detailed compared to stock, plus it's easier to move around with soft braided cable.
