Thank you. I enjoyed your review. I've been thinking of buying the PM-3's for sometime now....your review has tempted me, more so !

Thanks for the kind words. I do enjoy these phones immensly. If you are in a situation to try, I would suggest doing that. Sound is subjective. These just suite me very well :)

Excellent well thought out analysis. I believe that the PM-2 with it's greater soundstage and similar sound will be my choice. Thanks.

Nice review I just ordered a pair last week. The Feds (Fed Ex) should be paying me a visit any day now... I hope they are a couple of steps above my SoundMagic HP-100's fingers crossed...

Peace...

Thanks for the kind words guys.  @Herueyes, I hope you enjoy. @Aurion enjoy your choice. Haven't heard the PM2. would like to, but it doesn't meet my criteria of what I want in a headphone, so its not a considered purchase for me right now.

Great review! Have you considered the Oppo HA2 with the PM3? I have the HA2 and love it, I will soon be getting the PM3.

Thanks @howdyI have, but with all the hoops I have to go through..... I Have heard that it was almost like they were made for each other as well, so its very tempting.

What are the cables in the pictures? :)

Thanks again. They are a Surf Cable custom. They have cables for the Oppo that are balanced for the Pono. But seeing as i don't have anything balanced, I asked for a single ended version

I got mine (special edition Blue) this past Friday(10/23/15)... They are revealing to say the least! I've heard things much more clearer with these and my iphone than I've heard with my full fledged DAC's and Amps with $1000+ headphones... I've already decided to get a 4-pin XLR cable so I can plug into my Mjolnir and HA-1 to hear my music on another level... I now know what all the fuss is about!!!! You can definitely hear deeper into your music.

@Herueyes.Thats very high praise! I would love for you to do a comparison review of the PM3 with your other cans. That would be very interesting. What other cans do you have and the DAC and amps? I am seriously considering the Chord Mojo and the Schiit Bifrosr Mulyibit in the future. waiting to hear some solid feedback on those two beasts, and saving up some cash :).

I posted a question about music , movies and light gaming and most of the persons says this model but no the amp HA 2... insted they recommend the dragonfly and Oppo pm3.... so i will take my bets

Is really worth to buy the amp HA 2??

@alexandernigth Well I have never heard the Dragonfly, so cannot say, but from most of my reading here on head-fi, most people say that the synergy between the HA2 and the PM3 is brilliant, I am now also reading that the Chord Mojo seems to be a great match with the PM3 as well. This is just hearsay from me though, so take with a huge chunk of salt. But lately in the PM3 thread and the Chord Mojo thread, there has been mention of the synergy of both the HA2 and Mojo respectively

@dudlew great review and photos. Was just lying in bed listening to some Donald Byrd with my 7520s. I was checking out the PM3 thread and came across your review. Having only listened to the PM3s briefly but owning a set of LCD2 I'm confident that just based on the technology alone the Oppo should beat out the 7520. Still, I've been really enjoying the 7520 and not missing my LCD2 when listening to them. Mine creak like a pirate ship and comfort is not quite there but I love the tonal balance so much I put up with the minor fit issues and noises. . The 7520 are made for mix work first, their elevated bass helping simulate speaker and room characteristics. For studio sound the 7520 is where it's at, but for pure music listening the PM3 is choice. I'm looking forward to trying them out again.

They are both great headphones. At least to my ears. I am happy that every step I take is an upgrade in sound as far as the headphones are concerned. I think if you get a serious listen to the PM3 it might win you over.
