The Hammo S has a much flatter frequency response and much, much better distortion measurements. Conversely, the M50X has a better impulse response and thus, the square waves are less noisy. However, the overall shape of the SWs is better on the Hammo S.

Objectively speaking, that's 2 points for the Hammo S, 1 point for the M50X, and one wash. It depends on your tastes which you'll prefer of course, as both have a weakness compared to the other, but I personally can deal with some slight ringing in exchange for that huge of a difference in distortion.

@tatato14 - But actually listening to the headphones, the Hammo S's brighter upper-mids is fatiguing due to the more aggressive sibilance, especially on music that's mastered on the brighter side. My first rule for audio reproduction devices is to "first, do no harm." Having that fatiguing brightness is actually painful to the ears, and the M50x does not have this problem.

Also, despite the M50x's bass response being a bit more prominent than neutral, it has better articulation based on my listening tests, as well as fills out the bottom end better in terms of providing a solid, grounded presence. In comparison, the Hammo S's bass feels a bit less authoritative.
