A fantastic review, enjoyed your overall impression of the Aeon. After reading your informative review, I have no regrets preordering the Aeon.

I heard it at canjam 2017 in new york. pictures don't do it justice. they look nice and lush. comfort is top notch. sound quality is really good too.

I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed listening to these at CanJam. I typically like headphones with a bit more midbass thump than from what I heard from The Aeon, however I didnt feel like I was missing anything with these on my head.

Really nice sounding headphones.

Likewise, got a chance for a brief listening at CanJam NYC, and felt in love with a comfort and a sound tuning from the second I put these on.  I'm not much into full size headphones, and when go for one usually prefer to review closed back (PM3, EL8C, etc).  This one definitely hits the sweet spot for me (even more than SINE), and I hope maybe I will get a chance to review it sometime in the future.

Same experience as previous comments. Comfort and sound quality were immediately apparent. Ordered a pair right away and then went over to Chord table and bought a Mojo to drive them. I didn't think I needed a transportable system 'till then.

This was one of the highlights of CanJam NYC for me, too. @reddog I doubt you'll be disappointed. Nice review!

Great review!!!!!
"How nice it would be to take the Aeon to work with a modest DAP or phone even, only to bring it home in the evening and unleash it’s potential on your desktop amp."
I love this.  This is exactly what I do with my Ether C 1.1, though I also pack my DAC and take back and forth (iDSD Micro).
Had I not bought these I would jump on the Aeon.

Superb review! I tried the Aeon's at CanJam NYC last weekend and knew they were for me up-on first listen. I have (and love) the Ether Flows but lately my Holy Grail search has been for a closed-back portable (ish) headphone with the balance of comfort and sonic qualities I like. Like you, comfort is the price of entry for me, with no middle ground, and MrSpeakers really scored there.

I noticed that on the MrSpeakers website they picture the Aeon's next to the Questyle qp1R, which I own. I wonder if it's a good match on its own with the Ethers (?).

I also text drove them at CanJam NY. I liked them enough to go home and place a preorder for them. Thanks to Dan for having them on multiple amps for testing.

Nicely done. You've got my interest peaking for this one. Like you, comfort comes first for me, if my head/ears are not a good fit the sound qualities are meaningless. That's the issue I had with the LCD line and Abyss, no amount of fiddling over a week in home with each got me far enough involved to come to grips with the sound. Maybe not so much an issue of those designs as the shape and size of my head and ears, oh well.

As I may not be around long enough to finally come up on some dealers list to audition the Utopia this might be my first blind buy in a phone. And it's only $700.00!

Ah, this makes me doubt which cans to choose for even more! I'm considering B&W P9, Beyerdynamic T5P and these... Any thoughts?

Anlaham– I bought and returned the B&W P9s because IMO they are way too bass heavy... downright thumpy, unless that's your cup of tea. P9s are also overpriced; in fact, it's the luxury build you're paying for mostly (they are magnificently well built). Not a big Beyerdynamic fan so can't comment there. I CAN say that I own the MrSpeakers Ether Flow and they're the flat-out best sounding headphones I've ever had (especially with a good tube amp source). I'd go with the Aeon's hands down.
