Nice review man! I actually ordered a pair from HiFiGo website when they came out and have to agree they're very impressive, I think the soundstage on the Starfield is close and intimate as well, but you're totally right about the soundstage being above-average, the width is really good and overall better than I expected.

Nice review! Congratulations! How about its passive isolation?

Excellent review. I had the KXXS and I also own the No. 3 so I have a frame of reference for comparison. The KXXS is a polite tuning that changes as the volume goes up. Compared to the No.3 which sounds the same as the volume is increased. While I liked the KXXS I didn’t feel @ $208 it was worth keeping while I owned the No.3. and the BLON BL 03.

@charizord, the passive isolation is above average for me since their shell is neither big or small. So it fit the ear really well.

@Assimilator702, well some people still preferred their KXXS instead of Starfield/no. 3 hahaha

@yorosello I iked the sound signature of the KXXS however I didn’t feel it gave me enough value @ $200. They are impressive performers however I wasn’t blown away considering I have almost 50 iems. The Focal Elear, now THAT gives you something you’ll hear in no other headphone. I am FIGHTING to resist buying the Starfield. One day shipping. Yikes.

@Assimilator702 well, if you want to pull the trigger, i'll not stopping you. But mind that according to some who have the kxxs & buy the starfield, they say the sound aren't too different from each other when they A/B-ing them, including crinacle

@yorosello What do you think about them compared to EA3? I have those and they’re pretty good. I know you’re one of the first people to get the EA3. I actually liked the KXXS but not enough for $200. At the time I preferred the No.3 sound signature a bit more. Sometimes when we get rid of things we can’t stop thinking about them. I really liked how the KXXS could really take the volume and keep its cool.

@Assimilator702 Starfield compare to EA3, SF ofc is more refined than EA3 and has lesser bass (tighter bass) but enough to please my ear after coming from bass heavy iem like no. 3/T2 galaxy. EA3 treble much is harsher thought it's pretty detailed & mid is a bit forward than No. 3/t2 galaxy. Soundtage is more natural on SF, unlike EA3 which is kinda tricky sometimes. Timbre also feels more natural in SF. Ea3 will get fatiguing after a long session of listening even after some tip rolling.

If you prefer No. 3 than I guess you are a basshead, which will make some sense that you find kxxs not enough for you to justify the price.

@yorosello Not a basshead but I am a drummer so I need things to sound right. Most people don’t know how instruments sound in real life. Bass guitars and drums need to be reproduced accurately. With electronic music if there are deep bass effects those need to be presented. Keep in mind if something is neutral EVERYTHING will be presented and nothing will be left out. So people that rave about preferring neutral tuning but complain they don’t like bass make me laugh.

@yorosello How about a comparison to the EA3? What are your thoughts on how they compare? Can you no longer listen to the EA3 after hearing the Starfield? I haven’t been following the threads.

@Assimilator702 in the sense of reproducing accurate sound, I would prefer the Starfield since it's pretty organic and very natural IMO. It also because i didn't feel any mid-bass bleed that causes them to sound muddy like in no. 3. But I guess for a bass player, something that could rumble, have great the sub-bass like the no. 3 is definitely the cake.

@Assimilator702 I would like to make a comparison between SF & EA3 but it wouldn't be fair since their price range is different and the set up also different. 1 is hybrid & 1 is full DD. I still try to listen to them but not for a long listening session. I use the EA3 mainly for gaming or testing purposes for my review on them

@yorosello I get what you’re saying but Fiio could have easily priced the EA3 @ $80 considering the history of their pricing. Then all of a sudden the comparison would be somehow fair. Price is so arbitrary since all this stuff is cheap af to manufacture in China.
