Moondrop Kanas

FastAndClean

Previously known as presata
Pros: deep powerful bass response, lush organic midrange, gentle treble, excellent build and comfort, very relaxing to listen to, with bass heavy tracks it is fun, darkness done right
Cons: i don't like the stock cable, for some it will be dark, not for fans of highly detailed analytical sound

Ah the old love, you move on thinking that you are over it, but you are not.
Memories are starting to visit you about the good old days, it was simple back then, less earphones, one good dynamic driver that performs good and you are set. I was like that with my Kanas Pro, the BA sets started to take over my time and decided to sell them, the fun was out. I tried to play neutral head at that time, it didn't work out for me.
I was thinking - KP is very good yes but those BA s are so fast and clear sounding, i don't need the KP.
Wrong.
I want them back i was thinking, but i saw one review here for the regular Kanas, no fingerprint magnet, more bass and less treble - GIVE IT TO ME

I made a purchase from aliexpress, the price was 144$.

Build, fit and comfort
Solid heavy metal, excellent fit and comfort for me.

Isolation
the same as KP, good not great

Overall sound signature.
The Kanas is L shaped, with powerful bass response and neutral sounding mids and treble

Bass
The bass has a big boost, it sounds like it is about 8-9db over a neutral DF target, very dense and visceral.
It goes very low and it is very dramatic sounding, thick but not overdone, the biggest part of the boost is in the sub bass region. There is some mid bass emphasis but not as much. Dynamic and rumbly, extremely fun with movies and electronic music. Because of the mid bass emphasis the guitars on Doom metal tracks sound thick and deep, with a lot of body to them. If you are fan of Doom and Sludge metal you are in for a treat.
The control of the bass is not as good like in KP, the decay is longer, but is not bloated, the texture is very good.
Very organic visceral bass response, the main selling point for me.
If you want to get wild with bass EQ they eat it without problems, they can take your head off with bass EQ.

Mids
The mids are lush and warm, they are close to neutral but i think they have some small boost somewhere in the middle part of the mids. If the graph is correct it shows some small emphasis at around 1.3-2khz.
Midrange sound very smooth and organic, beautiful, musical type of mids, no upper midrange emphasis here.
The detail retrieval is very good but again the KP sound a little bit cleaner, less warm with more upper mids (or less lower mids). I love that type of tuning if a want to relax or crank up the volume and have some fun, no shout or bite here.

Treble
Treble is relaxed, have some sparkle in the upper treble but is just slight, like KP but lower in level.
When you ad to that big bass response and lush mids you have something similar to Final E5000.
Very gentle, good detail but is just there, for some people it will be dark.

Soundstage and imaging.
Soundstage is good but is not very big, KP has bigger soundstage because of the treble tuning and less bass.
The stage shape is like a sphere, the dept is not very good, more intimate type of stage.
The imaging is good but is not very distinct, the positioning is there but is not very clear like more technical earphone, Audiosense T800 for example has a lot bigger soundstage and better imaging but they have different tuning and T800 is all BA.

Conclusion
I love them very much, they are my warm and cozy in ear, also if i want to have fun with bass heavy music.
