Tried the 11 deco a while back and was far from impressed - bloated and seriously lacking in detail, though build was still great. From your description these sound a lot better. Have you had any chance to hear previous Meze iem's?

@wolfjeanne I haven't heard the 11 deco but I've heard the 12 Classics and from your description I assume they sound similar. The treble in 12 is very recessed and the detail retrieval is poor even considering the price. I wasn't expecting anything close to the wonderful 99 Classics but I thought that they will at least have a similar sound signature (detailed and 'dynamic').

I was going to jump on the X11's for 90 bucks, also considering the re-400's and etymotic hf5's too. No need for a remote though. Are these still worth it over the others?

@Adash @Bansaku @wolfjeanne  I want to officially state that the new 11Neo and 12Classics have nothing in common with the old and discontinued 11Deco and 11Classics. We at Meze have gather a lot of experience meanwhile that we imputed in the new products. The driver materials and specs are different and so are the cables. There is nothing inherited from our first generation of earphones. We think it is a big step forward, but you, the users should be the judge.

@MezeTeam Thank you for your response. I hope that in the future you'll manage to make an IEM which sounds like 99 Classics (I don't care how much it will cost  ) That would be the end of my search for perfect sound.

I've heard a lot of IEM and wouldn't call 12 Classics treble recessed. I can very clearly hear what's happening up top and was very impressed at how well the 12 Classics responded with higher-tier sources like LPG - especially given the 12 Classics modest price. And I'm not joking about that. The pairing literally surprised me with how well the 12 Classics responded. It put an instant smile on my face. Bass was tight yet punched hard when called for, mids were present but not syrupy, highs were crisp and clear. It was so good, I immediately reached out to Antonio Meze and suggested he give that pairing a try the next time he's at a show.

@nmatheis I used Dragonfly Black as a source. I consider my Shure 215 to have very recessed treble but to my ears it sounds better then the treble on 12 Classics. RHA 750 are even better in this regard. From the different price range: Westone W30 in my humble opinion did not have recessed treble (one of the best treble I've heard, unless you overdrive it).  RHA T20 was also relatively flat (not recessed) in the treble.
I admit that I might be wrong here and what I'm hearing (missing) is lack of some kind of sparkle or bite which I'm used to. Shure 215 fo example is very dark sounding IEM but the top frequencies can be exciting and moving (despite being recessed).
How long did you burn them in? What source did you use? Did you use the stock eartips? I'm very surprised about your observations. Maybe I just had a faulty pair.
