Maybe your headphones have a dead neutral sound.

I am Korean user and recived dx200 2 days ago. Your review is really nice and useful.
I used X7 producted by fiio for 7 months, but it's sound can not be compared with dx200.
really wider stage, clear background with less noise, longer battery time...

Bearing burning time to attract full potential sound is painful and suspicious initially,
but there is certainly positive sound difference as more and more burning.
I read dx80 review post before and there is burn-in clable for line out in package
so I have been burning line-out port first by using 2.5 to 3.5 convert cable.

As you mentioned above, around 200 hours is recommended for fully burn-in.
I estimate total time for burn-in will be around 400 hours for linout and balanced out.
DX200 is really nice one and deserves called as reference DAP.

Detailed review as usual, thanks for the effort.
Certainly a very well built dap with most of the features expected from a high-end dap... except one: capacity to store a full flac library.
It's nice that you think it measures up to the most expensive DAPs in terms of SQ, but 64Gb is far from the 256Gb of WM-1Z and AK380, to be exhaustive in your comparison.
In this day and age, 64Gb is a bit underwhelming, and this is probably how the sub-1000$ price was achieved. Too bad really, because I really liked the neutral signature, detailed sound, balanced ouptut and nice UIs.

Amazingly detailed and thorough review, thank you! I only wish ibasso had a DX80 to DX200 upgrade program...

Great review thank you, looks to be the DAP I've been waiting for.
Like you I prefer the DAP not to colour the sound and have IEM/Headphones for sound colour I want.
Can only imagine it will pair very nicely with ALO CDM + Vega in balanced for my transportable setup and stand alone will be great for on the move.
I don't mind it only have 64Gb on-board as i have my SDcards setup in the music styles that go together nicely and can keep using random all without managing play lists from the cards. After all don't want to go from  Psybient to heavy metal when chilling out.

Nice review :)

Do you have any more information about these filters in the Mango player? I suspect these are just roll-off filters, right? In other words, active only at/around 20 kHz? Can you really hear any difference at all with these?

Great review!!
You should do more and more. lol
Seriously 64gb is an issue?
I have the DX50&DX80 on both I don't use the onboard memory just microSD 256 is enough.
I use them for my commute.
I truly want to hear the $4000 DAPS especially AK380.
50&80 aren't that much of a difference, I must attend one of these meets in my area and hope someone have one of the 4000DAPS can't say but I think its marketing.

64GB coupled with single MicroSD slot is an issue for a DAP in this price range and level. Very odd decision considering the DX80 has dual slots. To me, this is a deal breaker. Good thing there are other DAPs out there huh?

Only 64GB + sd 256 = 320 total should be enough for most people ! Lets be frank how much music you can listen too on the go ? If nesessary a second sd card can be taken along it takes very little space .Deal breaker because only one slot I find that rather strange .
