Do you think this will make the mids warmer (male vocals?) Looks like that boost carries through the lower midrange at least.

I just ordered mine! I wanted an upgrade over the Moondrop Variations but with a warmer sound. The 7th Anniversary weren’t there yet but looking at graphs these seem to be what I was looking for!

Just closing 2024 the best way possible 😁

That the frequency response curve I was looking for was pretty much the same as the 7th anniversary minus the bass section. This new Limited Edition fixes that for me, from graphs.

Now I hope that reality will exceed expectations.

That "3.5mm to 4.4mm Converter" I think is a disaster waiting to happen.

The Manta cable is SE. Then you have a SE (Female) to BAL (Male) adapter - which is just a dumb adapter. Some people will think that adding that adapter will make the cable Balanced - which it won't.

I think a lot of Balanced amps will get shorted because of this dumb adapter.

They state that the 3.5mm cable is balanced, which sounded weird to me because I wonder what gives them the “authority” to state that.

I personally will look forward to buy a proper balanced cable if I feel the need to listen to them on a balanced connection. Better safe than sorry 🤣

I missed were it said 3.5mm Balanced - now that you mentioned it, they did say it's 'Balanced' BUT - the photo that they are using is 3.5mm TRS - not 3.5mm TRRS - so how can that be 'Balanced'? Sounds and looks fishy (for now).

Yeah, kind of. I will share a photo as soon as the product arrives at my door. Still waiting for HifiGo to ship my unit.

An alternative might be that in reality it is unbalanced and like on the ifi adapter the signal stays unbalanced and one of the rings is not connected on the 4.4 end. But is it safe? On top of my head I’d think so, but I wouldn’t spend my time on it at that point.

It feels weird because the White Whale cable was 4.4mm, they could’ve followed the same philosophy and just ad a 4.4 to 3.5 adapter… 🤷‍♂️

Oh I'm betting that 3.5mm to 4.4mm converter is dumb - just for convenience sake - and in doing so, they will fry A LOT of Balanced amps! 🤦🏻‍♂️ They SHOULD clear this up.

Agreed with you, they should have just gone with a 4.4mm cable in the 1st place.

Yeah, still thinking if I should get one...still thinking.

My unit was just shipped from HifiGo, so I just have a few more days to wait! :D

From the general sentiment, the adapter seems to be an after-thought, I hope they rethink this and make a 4.4 Manta cable, it looks quite the step up from the White Whale which was already a very great looking and feeling cable. If they won’t I might splurge for an Effect Audio cable after Christmas. I want to test drive the IEMs first, though…my amp and the HiBy R4 have enough juice on the 3.5mm connection…so not having a balanced connection will just be a non issue.

Regarding the cable... I had a chat with their support, and to summarize it, they said that they will make 4.4 Manta cables, but it will be some time later. You can order it later...

Waiting patiently for your impressions on this IEM!

That’s awesome news! I will post my impressions ASAP. It should fly out of China tomorrow, if everything goes well I’ll have a busy weekend 🥰
