New Head-Fier
Guideray gr-t20
Pros: Great tonal balance.
Good timbre.
Hot and fun signature.
Cons: It could be a little more detailed.
I would like the treble to have more extension
Hello friends, today I bring you the review of the guideray gr-t20 earphone. Sorry for my English because I'm from Brazil and I'm using Google translator to write this review, so forgive any mistakes
I want to thank the seller for giving a discount on this unit for my unbiased opinion of the product.
Well the gr-t20 is a hybrid phone with a 9.2mm dynamic driver and 2 balanced armatures.
With a beautiful and differentiated wood finish, which is unique in this price range.

UNBOXING

The gr-t20 has a wooden case with a wooden sticker as well.
Inside there is a Chinese manual, and a beautiful carrying bag with what appears to be leather (perhaps synthetic leather).
It comes with good olives, different from the ones that most are used to like the ones from kz, tin audio and other manufacturers, are two pairs of the small black, and three pairs of the transparent double flange, which are the same ones that came with my old one **** h5.
The cable is 8 cores, it is very malleable, it does not tangle even if you want to.
It is practically identical to that of thieaudio legacy 3, changing only that the legacy 3 is matte, while the gr-t20 is glossy.

BUILDING QUALITY

What to say about this in ear, it is just beautiful.
Very well finished, the only phone I saw with a wood finish of that level on a $ 80 earphone
The shell has no steep corners, and the faceplate is very well fitted.

COMFORT AND ISOLATION

Well, I'm going to start talking about isolation, even for a semi-custom phone (everyone I bought outside the tin t2 was semi-custom) this has a really strong isolation, if you take public transport or even use it at work that has a lot noise, this is the phone for you, even more allied with the good amount of bass.
In comfort he loses to others.
Not that he is uncomfortable, but by adopting a stronger isolation he ends up not being as comfortable as the kinera Idun and the best of them is his senior T4 who seems to be wearing nothing in his ear.
But make no mistake, the gr-t20 is comfortable.

STAGE AND IMAGE

it has a good sound stage for the price, much better than that of thieaudio legacy 3 which costs 40 dollars more.
The stage is more intimate, but accurate.
It is more focused on width than depth.
The images are good, have a great separation of instruments for the price.

SIGNATURE AND TONALITY

it has a great tonal balance, a balanced signature.
The general hue is warm, tends to a darker and more relaxed side.

BASS

The bass is excellent in it, it is its strongest point, the second phone with the best bass I have ever had (it has much more quality, extension and speed than the zsx) behind the older T4 that has better details and precision in this range.
The gr-t20 has good speed, weight and length.
It has a very good subgrave (much more quantity and more quality than the zsx and thieaudio legacy 3), I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a phone that has strength in this area, and without losing strength in the attack bass that has good weight and speed in measure.

MIDS

The mediums are excellent, although a more relaxed tone brings good details.
It has an excellent timbre (far superior to thieaudio legacy 3)
Despite having a lot of personality in the low, the midfielders were not forgotten.
There is no decay between low and medium
The male voices sound full and heavy. They present themselves with an excellent distance for me, neither in the face nor far.
Instruments in this region sound crisp and current.

Highs

The treble doesn't have much length, but it has good quality and quantity. it sounds relaxed and clear.
But keep in mind that this in ear is not a in ear that has a brightness in the highs, which in my opinion brings tiredness with time.
If you are looking for a phone that has a lot of extension and brightness in the treble this is not for you.
It works with more relaxed treble, has good amount of air

COMPARATION

Guideray gr-t20 80 $ VS thieaudio legacy 3 120 $

The gr-t20 is much higher than the bass in all aspects.
Both in extent, quantity and speed.
The bass of legacy 3, has little quantity and sounds silly, xoxo.

Medium
Legacy 3's mids seem to be bigger, as they are right in the face. but the quality is just bad, tiring and the tone is just awful.
The mids of the gr-t20 are impeccable, very consistent even more considering the price.

Treble

The two headphones don't have much extension, in that they literally tie.
But the treble of thieaudio legacy 3 is annoying even though it has the same amount as the gr-t20, but legacy 3 has a serious problem of resolution and timbre as it happens with midfielders.
The gr-t20 is much more pleasant and not tiring and cheaper.

The legacy 3 stage is ridiculously small and poorly presented, the instruments seem to be on top of each other.
Guideray is much better.
The gr-t20 has a balanced signature, and a more musical, dark and relaxed tone.
Legacy 3, on the other hand, has a clear focus on medium to high ranges, like someone who wanted to be a "detailed" phone. But it failed miserably, with a tone, say in the style of kz in ears.

CONCLUSION

The guideray gr-t20 is an excellent in ear, especially considering the cost of 80 dollars.
It's very musical and fun
With great bass and mids.
It only lacked more extension in the treble to be perfect.
I highly recommend buying it, it is an excellent upgrade for those who come from a kz for example, you will be impressed by the atmosphere and timbre that it brings.
The seller is very honest and quick to respond, I recommend it highly.
