OMG, it's only $22 in Amazon Japan.
I think it's not bad for $22 if you like the airy open sound for easy listening as a secondary or third earphones. It is the earbud you love it or you hate it.
It's not surprising thatBeatsguy doesn't recommend this.

Its wide sound stage and airy unobtrusive sound is one and only for the earphones.
(excluding way pricier elder brothers of Pianoforte series)
Feels like listening to full-range Fostex speakers in backload horn enclosure.
Nice natural bass is pros too.

It's not crisp or precise or Hi-Fi, but if you like the pros above, you might want to keep it.
Oh, you have to be careful how you fit the earbud. It really matters for this PHII.
For me, twist it front and to set arms (codes) to about 45 degrees front side makes the best sound. High and low both. Many other Japanese reviewers mentioning importance of how you fit this.
But anyway, $80 is just insane.

^ I'm going to respectfully disagree here. When it comes to airy sound with wide soundstage, I think the Creative Aurvana Air does much better and has actual detail. In the same price range (~¥3000), the Sennheiser MX375 and MX475 keep the airiness while providing a more linear sound with far less congestion.

Also, any change in fit isn't going to resolve the mediocre detail retrieval and unusual tonality.

Needless to say, I didn't like them either.
