Love your reviews! Part of the reason why I decided to buy the Q1. I had an e6, but gave it away to a friend, do you think the a1 will pair well with an iPod nano 3G through line-out? Thanks.
Thanks - depends on what you're trying to achieve. If you're looking for actual amplification, you won't get a lot. If you're after the bass boost (EQ), lower impedance, and probably extension of battery life on the Nano - yes, it should help there
Just happened on this review of yours Paul. I'm not in the market for a mini-amp (I don't think lol), but regardless, your review was as excellent as they all are. Thanks.
Great review. I really wish the A1 came with the tiny interconnect that the Q1 has. Maybe Fiio will sell it at some point. Either way, I assume I'll be ordering the A1 soon.
Funnily enough, I did try the A3 with the M3 and my old AKG K701 last time I saw my Mum. I gave her the K701 a few years ago - she is a classical buff. It will get the K701 loud enough, but no it doesn't drive it properly. A well driven K701 has a really linear bass response - this was Ok, but lean.
Superb review as always. I love how you compare the product in the same range so people has more consideration/idea. Thank you.
I was consider to buy the Q1 after read your previous review, but the E07k give more control. So I'm using the Fiio 07k with M40x and I really love it.
Waiting for you K1 review. I really curious how does it sound. I considering get for my phone, I'm very positive it will support over otg cable.
Do you think it will pair well with Havi B3 Pro? I've read lots of reviews and they all mention these need an amp to shine and are also light on bass. So the bass boost eq on A1 should work well? Looking forward to your response.
The Havis may need more power if your source is weak. And if you think they are too bass light and want more boost, then yes - in this case the A1 may be helpful on both counts.
hi, thanks for the review. Do you think my sennheiser hd 518 will benefit / will get an improvement from this amp? im on a very tight budget and right now im using my smartphone (sony xperia s) as media player.
