Video Review:

Some time quite long ago I was asked by EPZ if I would like to try their latest product, I of course said yes and here it is. The EPZ M100, officially the first eartips I reviewed. Since I'm rather new to reviewing eartips. I would like to ask for suggestions about what I should talk about when discussing eartips. Let me know in the comments section.

The EPZ M100 is sent as a review units from EPZ, however they don't have any say on my review and they are hearing my thoughts on them as you are. This review is 100% own thoughts and experience with the EPZ M100, even though the units are gifted, I would try my best to give you my unbiased thoughts on them.

Build and Design
The EPZ M100 is made of soft silicone, it has a pretty malleable and sticky feel to them. Not quite sure if they have a wide or narrow bore as I think they're just normal. Perhaps compared to some other eartips they're wide and compared to the other quite narrow. Depends on what you're comparing them to.

The EPZ M100 is quite long and perhaps larger compared to your usual size. The soft material also made them quite easy to put on. From huge nozzles to small nozzles, perhaps on smaller nozzles they may slip out easily but since I barely have any IEM that have small nozzles, I can't say much on this.

M100 + Hiby x FAudio Project Ace
The Hiby x FAudio Project Ace is perhaps my favorite IEM under $300. The fitment of the Project Ace can be a little bit iffy at first but finding the best eartips for you is quite important with the Ace.

When I tried putting them on, the Ace looked 10 times fancier. It perhaps resembles the Softears UC Eartips. The fitment however, is where it shines the most. When I paired the M100 with the Ace, the fitment became way better and the sticky nature of the M100 made the Ace way more secure in the ears. Perhaps it is quite a bit out there, but I also think that the M100 may have boosted the vocal and upper mid performance of the Project Ace. Making the vocals stands out a little bit more compared to the stock eartips.

M100 + TinHifi Dudu
The fitment of the Dudu for me is quite uncomfortable as the body is quite huge because of the driver type and the nozzle is quite short. The M100 works best for IEMs with shallow fit like the TinHifi Dudu or maybe the Elysian Pilgrim. Perhaps I'm just imagining this, but the first time I tried the M100 with TinHifi Dudu the sound of the Dudu became a little bit more fatiguing and the vocal region might be a little bit more forward. This issue is no longer present when I get used to how the Dudu sound and I quite enjoy the fitment of the Dudu.

M100 + Dunu DaVinci
Perhaps quite redundant to buy even more eartips for the DaVinci, as it already came with a bunch of eartips you could think of, but I did try this and I finally found what the M100 might not be good for. Perhaps it's not really a problem, but for me the DaVinci already has quite a long nozzle to begin with, adding a little more to that Nozzle with the M100 might make the fitment slightly off. This is mostly talking about fitment but again your ears and mine can be quite different. Since the fitment of the M100 + DaVinci barely works for me, I don't really listen much with this combo. I barely notice any difference between the M100 and the included eartips.

M100 + DITA Project M
Another similar experience to the DaVinci as the DITA already fit so deep. The extra length of the M100 may break the already comfortable fit of the Project M. But I can't lie, the looks of clear eartips with the DITA Project M is something else.

On Durability
Perhaps they are not really easy to tear apart, unless you use sharp objects when interacting with them, but what is an actual concern right out of the box for me is whether or not they will turn yellow. After daily driving them for more than a month now, they do get slightly yellow. I tried cleaning them from time to time, but it seems like it doesn't work. Perhaps they're quite resistant to yellowing because I just noticed this quite recently.

TL; DW
The EPZ M100 is a liquid silicone eartips from the brand EPZ. The M100 has a quite soft and sticky feel to them. Costing around 5 dollars a box, the M100 is perfect eartips for those who are looking for eartips that look fancy or for those who would like a deeper fitment to their IEMs. Perhaps in the sound department the M100 might boost the vocal/upper midrange area quite a bit, but I can't really say for sure as perhaps this effect is different between IEMs and ears. I don't really know how to rate an eartips, but they get a thumbs up for me.

Thank you EPZ for trusting me with the review of the M100 and I'm really sorry that it takes quite a long time to assess this product. Thank you all for watching and supporting me to this point… still can't process I got a 1000 subs already.

Thank you again everyone for supporting me
and I wish you all a great day.

Elysian Audio M100: EPZ M100 Impressions for Elysian Audio Pilgrim
Pros: Budget and price-to-performance value as it can be on-par with the sound enhancements that the Softears UC eartips can provide.
Enhanced and improved Micro-details and detail retrieval, leading to a more immersive experience
Cons: Lack of bass improvements: It does not elevate nor enhance the bass region, I did not hear a slight change in sub-bass either.
Same treble as of Softears UC's
Not so good in mids
EPZ M100 vs. Softears UC in Elysian Audio Pilgrim Impressions
image_2024-08-29_214747436.png

I think one day passed since I used the Softears UC as my main combo eartips for the Elysian Pilgrim which gave me a fresh and very good impressions about considering this kind of eartips. Now, an acquaintance of mine encouraged me to test different eartips, hence this EPZ M100, acquired or bought around $6USD (but in my local currency i got it for around 499 Philippine Peso), and here's my initial impressions for this eartip set.

PACKAGING
image_2024-08-29_214951004.png

The EPZ M100 comes with a double-case packaging. One is for the case that covers the eartips case, and another is the eartips case itself. I haven't encountered nor experienced this type of packaging that comes with a case within an eartip case, lol.
PHYSICAL IMPRESSIONS

Fit: Grippier fit than Softears UC
Comfort: Super comforting. Actually similar when I used Softears UC.
Packaging: Impressive and unconventional for a typical eartip set, provided that M100 has another case aside from the eartip case itself.
Budget and Price: Can be a contender for a budget eartip set if you haven't acquired the Softears UC, Xelastec Azla, or Divinus Velvet (Normal and Wide Bore)

THE MAIN TOPIC - SOUND IMPRESSIONS

Vocals
Highlighted in female vocals, leading to a crispier female vocals. For male, similar only in Softears UC wherein it's way polished or enhanced only but not delivering crispy vocals. Vocal separation is slightly highlighted more in Softears UC rather than EPZ M100.

Treble
ALMOST THE SAME WITH SOFTEARS. But this one slightly improved treble A BIT (but not marginal difference), since using M100 lead to a smoother sounding experience.

Bass
No difference were distinguished between M100 & Softears UC, I think also given that Pilgrim has scaling capability and it only blends with most of genres. Bass was neither improved nor eliminated in either of those two eartips.

Details
Details are superb in this one unexpectedly. Provided that I'm impressed with the Softears UC, I am also expecting that M100 eartips will give the similar quality. Micro-details, the primary power of this Elysian Pilgrim, was more impressive when the M100 was used, as you can visibly hear more detailed micro-details and separation, leading to a more immersive, audible, and spatial sound experience.

Overall Verdict
EPZ M100 is good actually for its price, and for budget considerations if you want to achieve a magically-similar experience when using Softears UC.

The only downside is that it might be subjective within user's preferences and in terms of bass as I haven't heard any improvements. For everyone who wants to achieve an improved and smoother sound experience for a budget, you may opt to use this kind of eartips as it gives you a combination of comfort and magic.

For a $6.00 price I can say that it delivers more than what you get, except for bass and mids.

Another eartip rolling session has been completed for my Pilgrim, I will use the M100 eartips for the mean time until I acquired a premium custom cable by around September to see some changes.

EPZ M100 Super Comfy
Pros: Dynamic Range
Staging
Separation
Comfort
Isolation
Cons: Wide Bore
Bass
EPZ M100

Build: Liquid Silicon
Sound Characteristics
: It increases dynamic range, staging and separation, as they have wide bore. But the interesting thing is being made of liquid silicon they cover your ear canal quite well providing a decent isolation.

Usually wide bore eartips like: Divinus velvet, they don't easily go inside ear canal. It results in discomfort and bad isolation.
Another one would be DUNU S&S. These eartips have beautiful dynamic range increase capability but due to form factor universal fit can be an issue. And they require deeper insertion which can be painful.
On the contrary M100 decreases bass a bit.
I am using them for my Davinci. It has a narrower stage and less technicalities. So using M100 compensates these shortcomings, plus decrement of bass doesn't matter. As Davinci has plenty of bass :v

Did I forget to mention ? They are super Comfy and provides good isolation.

If your iem has bad separation, staging and dynamic range. If you feel like instruments are not distinguishable or bit crowded then you can try these tips.

100+ Head-Fier
Epz M100 Silicon eartips (affordable goodness)
Pros: ~ Very Soft & Grippy properties
~ Offers Great Comfort & Seal
~ Due to regular bore, better advantage is available for maximum IEM's
~ Clean, crisp & slightly bright treble delivery
~ Price to performance ratio
Cons: ~ Softer bass definition
~ Not very suitable for bright sounding IEM's
~ Offers an average sound isolation
~ Not the best tonal balance handling capability
~ Over the time these eartips will turn yellow-ish (nitpicking)
★ Introduction :-

EPZ is a newly established chinese audio company. Compared to other Chifi brands their gear offering is limited but they have managed to occupy a fairly strong position in the market, made it possible for their better quality control. Epz mainly manufacture earphone, cable, portable dac amp and tws type items. I've used several of their budget offerings and found them to be pretty good for the price. They've recently released M100 model transparent silicon eartips in the market which are considered as their premium quality tips till now. I've been using this eartips regularly for a few week Now, I'll try to highlight all aspects of this tips in my review. So that it is convenient for you to understand how equitable it is for this price category.

★ Disclaimer :-

The samples of the M100 eartips were sent to me directly from Epz Audio. I had no financial agreement with them to promote their product. So, the entire opinion of this review is completely personal.

★ Fit,Comfort & Isolation :-

The EPZ M100 eartips offer a good fit due to its silicon materials. Which fits the ear canal well and also creates a good seal even which helps the IEM to stay in the ear for a long time. It is available in several different sizes according to ear shape which helps in descent sound performance. On the other hand it is soft & grippy which ensures good comfort, even if used for a long time, there is no discomfort in the ears, Because of that, these tips are able to provide good support to listeners even during long listening sessions. However, these eartips cannot bring a noticeable change in terms of sound isolation, i.e. it can be said that it does not enhance the isolation much. By doing this, the presence of external noise can be detected, although I didn’t expect passive isolation like the premium tips from here but it needed to be a little better than average. I thought it might give me results similar to the Spinfit W1 but the usage experience was different. Moreover, it did not disappoint me that much.

IMG_20240819_130518.jpg

★ Sound Aspect :-

EPZ M100 creates a fairly tight seal in the ear, so the bass is enhanced to a good extent, but the bass note definition and delivery is a little too soft because these tips reduce the texture more and slightly degrade the depth. If the presence of the low end of an IEM is good by default, it will not sacrifice much. It can represent the midrange very nicely without any overly colored or shouty, It has managed to keep the mid section neutral, there is no tendency to be thin or recessed. So IEM tries to portray the character of mids as it is. for that the descent clarity & detail is intact,That's why vocals and instruments seem well-defined and natural at the same time. The treble section also shines well on these tips, I noticed that these eartips brighten the upper register by a slight margin. That's why there will be good synergy in warm or a bit dark type sets, on the other hand, there will be less chance of benefit in bright sounding sets because the brightness of upper treble will more increase. Though it can't handle tonality very accurately either. Slight emphasis on upper treble will naturally be an issue for bright IEM's.These tips are more helpful to handling good technicalities, The sound stage can be maintained properly and the imaging is precise with the presence of micro detail is also remarkably good.

Overall rating out of 5 is what I would give 👇

Bass : 3.8/5
Mids : 4.5/5
Treble : 4 /5
Technicalities : 4/5
Fit & comfort : 4/5

Sound isolation : 3.8/5

★ Conclusion :-

The price at which the Epz M100 eartips have come to the market can be said to be almost justified. Because its soft, flexible material was very comfortable and at the same time to give good fit but the deficiency was only in the area of isolation and in the bass region, besides these tips have been able to provide all kinds of benefits. So I can generally recommend to buying it, however, personal experiences may vary from person to person but I don't think these eartips will make anyone feel regret.
