What amp did you pair this with? with a solid state FiiO this thing sounded like the sahara.

DT880 is a great headphone in my book. There's sort of a learning curve. Based on your preferences I suggest to stay away from HD800, you'll probably hate it even more.

I had the DT880 250ohm Premium edition for some time. Imo no metallic or sibilant treble at all and bass extention was pretty good too. Overall I enjoyed it very much!
Maybe there's a big difference with the Pro version though, don't know...

Thanks for posting your review. I also would like to know what amp you were driving these with as that would be an issue if it doesn't play well with 250 ohm cans. So far I have stayed away from Beyerdynamic simply because the reviews are so inconsistent.
