Great review, and thanks again for the EQ tip. It really does transform the M05!

Excellent review, Brooko. I really enjoyed reading it. Using so many headphones myself for work all day, I tend to easily 'adapt' to different sound sigs and after a short period, I found the M05 euphoric but pretty good in comparison to my others here. I agree that mid bass is boosted and great to see by how much on your graphs. I fed back the very same. With it lowered, it is a very different and hugely improved headphone.

@Brooko : Paul, Fantastic detailed review and a very enjoyable read!!!  But I do want to note something.  I'm well aware that a lot of these Chinese manufacturers take a short cut in developing new headphones.  They take an existing design and just add their own driver with a slightly different tuning and maybe different accessories.  From your sound description, it doesn't just look but actually sounds EXACTLY like a very popular MEElectronics AF62 model from 2+ years ago (Tyll's Wall of Fame, and I also reviewed it half a year ago here: http://www.head-fi.org/products/meelectronics-air-fi-matrix2-af62-stereo-bluetooth-wireless-headphones/reviews/13287).  Besides a carbon copy design, an identical spec (even the battery life), you also mentioned the same sound sig and the need to apply EQ to make it enjoyable (my exact comment ).  I do want to give it a benefit of a doubt, and for sure M05 cost nearly 1/2 of the price which makes it a better value (minus a cool hard shell case offered with AF62), but other than that, I think Ausdom really took a short cut in this case, and I mean REALLY took a short cut

Thanks Alex - they do look exactly the same.  I wonder if Ausdom is possibly the OEM?  I'll check with Grace as soon as I can and report back.

Ausdom is the OEM of the Matrix 2, and they don't sound exactly the same. The Matrix 2 has a more forward signature.

Ausdom also make headphones for other companies. The EE version may disappear soon I think.
