r-10s don't go well with any amp or source thats dry/clean/lean IMO. the benchmark -> nordost -> bicode -> r-10s setup back in the seattle meet was crystal clear but emotionally uninvolving. i guess something like apogee -> cardas -> bicode/dynahi -> r-10 would be better.

w2002s are completely different from w1000s. w1000s are dry sounding like beyer 880s and can use some coloration from the tubes IMO...not the w2002s.

as said in an earlier thread (do a search if interested), the dynahi i use is much better than the 2004 headroom max with stepped volume control. much bigger soundstage, much better speed and better transparency. my dynahi also has a smooth and natural treble, not hard and smeared like some...

well my homebrew silver ICs, power cords and silver dragon are unshielded aswell... don't have any noise problem currently (in fact treble is clearer than ever), i start to wonder if shielding has anything to do with treble roll-off...

partsconnextion has a bunch of cheapie rcas. some of them look pretty decent to me...
