Super CMoy =)
Ooops, forgot about that - it sounds great! It cleans up the sound a lot. The bass is a lot faster, and the highs sound clearer too. I haven't noticed any distortion in the signal, all the way up to the maximum volume level. I'm really pleased with it- arspy87

Super CMoy =)
Hey everyone, So after building myself a typical CMoy for my headphones, I decided to see how far I could push the CMoy technology. I had noticed that my small 9v amp was able to power bookshelf speakers reasonably well, so... I built a 30v CMoy. The circuit is pretty much the same except...- arspy87

CMOY questions
I don't DC offset shouldn't be much of a problem in a CMoy circuit as long as you have the high-pass filter installed - film capacitor in series with the input source and then a grounded resistor connected between the cap and the noninverting opamp input.- arspy87

DIY Cmoy sounds horrible...any suggestions?
AFAIK, if you're using two batteries already, then you don't need those 4.7Kohm resistors to divide the voltage; just use the node between your two batteries as the virtual ground. Also, I used two index cards as insulation between the board and the casing... works pretty well and more sturdy...- arspy87

DIY Cmoy sounds horrible...any suggestions?
Also, the ideal way to set up your volume when using the CMoy (if your CMoy has a volume control, or even just a level switch) is to have your source volume maximized as much as possible (or at least close) and adjust the CMoy volume control to attenuate the output to the level you want. This...- arspy87

OPA2227 High current C-moy killer
Nice!! I'll have to give this a try. By the way, what did you use to get your custom PCB and what parameters did you use? I tried ordering my own PCB but I'm completely lost about what kind to order.- arspy87

My CMoy!
Hey guys, Just figured I'd post pics of my first amp, it's only a CMoy but I had a great time making it, and it sounds surprisingly really great! I'm using my laptop as a source and either Grado SR225s or AKG K240s. I was surprised how much the bass response has improved, and also how it...- arspy87

Cmoy + LM386N?
Hey everyone, I've been trying to build a cmoy amp for the past couple of days, with some difficulty... I'm suspecting it's the op amp causing the problems (I'm getting no signal, or a very low garbled signal), so I was wondering if anyone here has built a cmoy with an LM386N(-1) op amp and...- arspy87

Grado Upgraditis
I feel better now So I hear much more praise for the 225 than the 125 - anyone own both and have any opinions on the sound improvement? I thought the 125 was noticeably better than the 80 so we'll see how much better the 225 is... so excited This is a sickness. Must...spend...more...money...- arspy87

It's been a while since I've had the chance to keep up with everything here (incredibly busy at school...), but with the arrival of summer I finally had a chance to pick up some K240S's at Guitar Center yesterday I love them... my primary can has been Grado SR125s for quite a while and the...- arspy87

Thoughts on the Grado "soundstage"...
I agree muchly You've said it much more eloquently than I could... I do think Grados are really good at being "speakers on your ears" - they're good at being headphones and presenting the sound naturally in the sense that the sound is going directly into your ears. Personally I love that...- arspy87

SR-125: General Opinion
I think the SR125 sounds great. I can't deny I'm used to (and prefer) a bright frequency response, though. Aside from that, however, I think the SR125 sounds very competent and annoyingly foot-tapping-inducing. Didn't the SR125 get a lot of praise from Stereophile, by the way...- arspy87

i don't understand those who evaluate headphones before burn in.
I'd tend to believe that most of what we perceive as burn-in on headphones is our ears adjusting to the sound. That's not to say that there's no physical change in the drivers whatsoever, though, I'd guess. I'd imagine there's a "break-in" period on most electronic devices, especially those that...- arspy87
