It's not really that amazing. You can kind of hear the speakers, but it's not like there's suddenly a magical soundstage.

E2s, without question. Cheap, they sound great, plenty of bass, and tough as hell.

Well, like all other headphones, all IEMs sound different. As for source, you can listen to them out of anything you want, and it'll probably sound fine. IEMs are efficient, as they're usually made to work out of either a wireless belt pack that performers use, or out of a portable player...

That's been around for a while now.

They're not waterproof by any means, but don't get them drenched and you should be fine. Someone here used to use them in the hot tub if I remember correctly.
