Old feedback thread has disappeared
The newer ebay style feedback function might be interesting for newbies that get a look and feel they are used to. There is a buyer/seller feedback archive but it's obviously dysfunctional not only regarding me but also regarding to other long standing members I remember having posted in...- cosmopragma

Paypal exchange rate sucks
Today I've bought an item from U.K., 780 GBP including shipment. Paypal charges 3.4 % plus 35 cents for an international non-Euro deal. This is what the seller has to pay. On top of that the exchange rate is quite bad. According to XE.com 780 GBP are equivalent to 1.144,07 EUR today.Paypal...- cosmopragma

AT HA2002/HA5000 questions
Currently I do have mOOhkOOh's W2002/HA2002 on loan. There's no manual to speak of, only three pages mostly written in undecipherable japanese. I do have a few questions regarding the amp. 1)The amp gets quite warm, warmer than the class A amps I'm familar with. Is this normal? 2)The amp...- cosmopragma

No notification emails anymore
I don't get any notification emails regarding threads I'm subscribed to for a few days now. And yes, I've checked if the notification email option isn't disabled. It's practically impossible to keep track of my own posts and generally interesting threads this way. Is this a known problem (I...- cosmopragma

Tool - my last rock concert
Too young to die too old to rock'n roll. I couldn't stand the SPL. ~110 - 115 dB.It's estimated , but I think I'm not exaggerating. Even with inserted ER-20 style earplugs it was too loud for my tastes. Most attendees were twentysomethings, and me and my GF were the only ones equipped with...- cosmopragma

AKG K 340 rubber loops
Part of the self adjusting mechanism of the K 340 are rubber loops, and mine are worn out.I've looked at the AKG website for spare parts, but the K 340 isn't listed anymore. AKG still uses a comparable self adjusting mechanism in their modern cans. There is no universal rubber band for all...- cosmopragma

New Rudistor Egmont - dead after one hour
I recently had the opportunity to listen through an Egmont Classic during a mini meet dedicated to electrostatic rigs. I liked it better than any of the other amps (313, 006T, 007T,717, HEV70) and decided to purchase one. This evening when I got home I found a Fedex message in my mailbox. I...- cosmopragma

AKG K1000 soon to be discontinued
I don't know if this is old news, but I've read today on a german forum that AKG will stop producing the K1000 at the end of 2005. Jan Meier posted in that thread and confirmed it. Even worse, there seem to be no plans for a K2000. From 2006 on the K1000 will be a collectors item, get one now.- cosmopragma

Soundcard w/low jitter?
I need a soundcard with excellent digital out for a jitter sensitive DAC. I prefer optical, but coax is also an option. I don't care about analog out or gaming capabilities. It has to be better than the RME Digi 96/8 PAD I already own. How good is your recommended soundcard compared to...- cosmopragma

Digital attenuation?
What I want: I want to bypass all those pots in my amps because of the inherent precision issues. What I already know: In the realm of the 16 bit format digital attenuation is lossy.IIRC I loose 1 bit for every -6dB attenuation. This loss won't make that much of a difference for...- cosmopragma

Binaural for free
I was surfing around and what I found is this one .It's a german website, just look for: Leonard Bernstein: Symphonic Dances from "West-Side-Story" and download it. This is a privat project and therefor not perfect. It's only 128 kbit MP3 and it ends with a sudden cut after 13 minutes. It's...- cosmopragma

Grado HP 1000 questions
Maybe this has been answered before, but since the search function is down again..... I own a pair of SR 325s and I like them for some genres. I'm looking for a more refined upgrade. Are the HP 1000s a way to achieve this? Differences between them and the modern RS1? They are at the same price...- cosmopragma
