What's wrong with the Grado 325?

I think the more appropriate question would be, "What's wrong with Grados?"

So I think this kid damaged my ksc75s

No, don't hit him in his face. That's stupid. Instead, give him a swift side punch to the ear. That'll show him what it's like, and also avoid getting you in trouble, since it's more discrete and doesn't leave a mark as easily.

UE Superfi cable smell - should I return them?

Yeah, it's the smell of the plasticizers that soften the PVC. Funny that their high end products aren't made with a plasticizer-free soft PVC formula. It's not toxic, don't worry about it. It'll wear off over time. You can try cleansing them with a variety of household cleansers to remove or...

    Easy custom mint tin etching!

I just realized that you could use the toner transfer method used for etching PCBs to transfer designs. I've recently been thinking of ways I could mask off text on an aluminum front panel during DIY anodization, and it would be perfect. Unfortunately the aluminum would have to be quite smooth...

    sad day

You can try soldering directly to the driver. You'll probably have to scrap away that glue first, though. And don't overheat it.

    Anybody buy cans from B&H?

There's a very good reason that B&H widely loved among both amateur and professional photographic communities. I bought my DT 880s from them, no hassles. Not always the cheapest for headphones, though. It depends on which ones.

    The Sennheiser "veil"

Er, the HD650s, for example, have a sensitivity of 103 dB/mW, there is no way they need something like a Dynahi.

    Etymotic should make custom IEM's

I see no reason why the ER-4 can't be made to angle in towards the ear canal like the UM2 does. It would be far more comfortable and discrete. Additionally, they could fit a second driver in there. Seriously, like a big fat one for bass, 150 Hz below or so. Optionally I mean, on another...

    Slammin' BASS

Equalization. Or tone control on an amp, they're effectively the same thing. When I owned a pair of DT 990s, I found a low-shelf EQ with a corner frequency of 120 Hz and gain of 20 dB to be excellent on many recordings. I'm fairly certain this qualifies me as the biggest basshead on this website.

The Idea There is an ever-growing number of IEMs on the market, and as such, an ever-growing number of users dissatisfied with the stock tips for particular IEMs. I thought it would be a good idea to create an index of tip and barrel sizes so that people can see what tips fit what IEMs. So...
