I had my x10 for almost a year before the ends started to split. So there is actually a ver 2 now that addressed this issue? No more splitting problems with the ends? If so I would buy another pair since I like these so much.

These are the 2 headphones I am now considering too and still cant make up my mind. I really need to find a place where I can demo these...

Thats normal behavior on the 71A when it needs battery change.

This looks like one of those either love it or hate it designs, lets hope its sound is not like how it looks.

I voted R10, also would have voted for the L3000 if that was in the poll too.

The overall look is luxurious, more leather and elegant, but the shape of the cup is ugly imo.

I'm using the X10 for 3 months now and I don't have the splitting problem others are reporting. If you use them carefuly and not remove them from your ears by pulling the wire, then you should be good. This is a great deal, looks like I can finally pick up a X5 to try.

Thanks everyone for the replies so far. I am sure both will be outstanding phones. From what I gathered, both phones will be quite versatile with any music slection. The ED9 being smaller with a carrying case and also foldable is a big plus for travelling, while the D7000 with the lower price...

I have 2 pairs of the Tysonic low discharge 9V's that I use for the 71A. Both pairs consistently get between 22 to 22.5 hours per charge on low gain.

This 9V charger can charge both the NIMH and LI-poly batteries which is nice if you have both types.

One has dac the other not, shouldnt be too hard to choose. If just going by amp section alone, the SR71A should be the more powerful one. SQ wise, I dont know since I never heard the pico before.

Dark grey has a bit greenish tone to it under flourescent lighting, but its not bad looking though, the color is unique and different from other amps. Theres too many black and silver color components out there now, gotta be different sometimes .

It depends on what music I am listening to on the Image, if the music is already bass heavy, then I just set the eq on the ipod to off, if classical music or Piano then I set to acoustic.

Some of these low prices worries me, makes me wonder where and how they acquire their units. Pretty sure warranties are not covered, but does warranties matter that much in the headphone world? Has anyone's headphones crapped out before the warranty ended?
