LCD-3 New Cables?
Yea, I actually just boxed up the LCD-2's to go back. Maybe the LCD-3 isn't the end game after all. I do love them though.- c-record

LCD-3 New Cables?
I know this is a bit old but I thought I'd update since I just received my headphones. I bought a new set of LCD-3's and LCD-2's. Zebrano wood and shedua wood. I got the older flat cables with both but the adapter was only included with the LCD-3's. I asked about the flat cables on head-fi...- c-record

Review by 'c-record' on item 'Westone 3 True-Fit Earphones'
I've never been an in-ear headphone fan. Most of what I've heard hasn't had the separation in space and imaging that I enjoy in open airs so much. I got these this month after seeing some of the deal discussion threads along with a couple other headphones. (Side note: those threads were...- c-record

Question: LCD 2.2<<HE 500<< LCD 3?
I didn't notice the bass being that much better on the LCD 3 vs the LCD 2. Then again I was so much more engaged with the music and enjoying it that I was simply listening and not analyzing. The highs being much more natural and present just made them sound like a much more complete headphone...- c-record

Great minds and all that you know.... If I had seen the Amazon $8xx.xx deal on HD800s I would have been all over them!- c-record

Question: LCD 2.2<<HE 500<< LCD 3?
That's great to hear. I kinda wish I would have been on the lookout for HE500s during the holiday sales. I've been scheming on the HD800s myself. :) I could go HD800 AND HE500s for the price of LCD3s.- c-record

Question: LCD 2.2<<HE 500<< LCD 3?
The dealer didn't have any LCD-X to compare. They should get some so that would be a good one to check out. I know I really liked the LCD3 sound and if the X is 'almost' as good I'd rather spend the extra for the 3s.- c-record

Question: LCD 2.2<<HE 500<< LCD 3?
Not having had a chance to hear the HE500 I have to try and understand others experience. The LCD2 lacked air, sparkle and detail in the highs for me as well. For myself it is a price issue between the HE500 and the LCD 3. I could pick up HE500s now but I'd have to wait a bit for the LCD3s...- c-record

Question: LCD 2.2<<HE 500<< LCD 3?
I also am not looking for harsh/bright treble. I've heard some say the HE500 can be aggressive. I did however enjoy the sound of the LCD3 much more than the LCD2. It was more open, airy and involving. I think much of this had to do with the treble presentation. Maybe I'm talking myself...- c-record

Question: LCD 2.2<<HE 500<< LCD 3?
I think I've been talking myself into the LCD-3. I know I liked what I heard better than the LCD-2 and I hear the LCD-3 is still a step up from the HE500.- c-record

Question: LCD 2.2<<HE 500<< LCD 3?
Thanks Tony. I think you're probably spot on-the HE 500 is one of the best for the $$. I wish I could manage a way to hear them. I guess I could order and return them if they don't do it for me.- c-record

Question: LCD 2.2<<HE 500<< LCD 3?
Thanks for the reply. Do you find the treble to be recessed or darker than the HE500? Is the HE500 fatiguing? I preferred the treble of the LCD 3 over the 2 from my listening. Thanks.- c-record

Question: LCD 2.2<<HE 500<< LCD 3?
I'd love to hear the LCD X. The LCD 3 is really the one that got me thinking though, the HE500 is a thought as the sound signature is described as being in between the LCD 2 and 3. It's the $$ of the 3 that is prohibitive. The X is close enough to the the cost of the 3 that it's probably a...- c-record

Question: LCD 2.2<<HE 500<< LCD 3?
I've been perusing the entire thread on the Audeze LCD 2.2. With the Black Friday sale I just missed picking up a pair LCD 2.2s last week. I stopped by the Audeze dealer yesterday and had a listen and I was very impressed by the overall tone and signature. I felt what sounds like a slight...- c-record

Question: LCD 2.2<<HE 500<< LCD 3?
Thanks for the input. I saw the review on the LCD X on the front page. It sounded really positive. I may be trying to talk myself into an HE500 as an in between the LCD 2 and LCD 3. It sounds like it's probably not though?- c-record

An enormous thanks to Skylab for the great work. Your advice/experience has been a lot of fun to read and learn from. Now my question is down to the final two: 3 Move vs. Mustang. I take it the Mustang does not have a DAC so the 3 Move comes out ahead here. It's li-ion rechargeable batteries...- c-record

Sell HD600s?
Thanks for the inputs. I have some K271S for portable as well. I bought the HD600 to try on a new home amp I got and don't really like it as well as my 701. I'm wondering if the 2Move would give me a place to make use of the HD600 vs. selling them?- c-record
