Woo Audio WA6, including 6DE7 -> 6SN7 adapters. Some different tubes (5AR4, 6DE7, GSN7). Used, taken very good care of. Selling because I need to downsize my footprint a bit. A tough decision for me - had it paired with the same pair of HD600s for a long time now.

    Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread

Yes I definitely cannot tell the difference between terminations....Just as a practical issue for me, I will never plug into a 3.5mm jack.

    Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread

Just a PSA I just received the 5 Ft. cable from this provider.   I am a huge fan. The original cable really feels kind of like my old Playstation 1 AV cable and just isn't quite what I'm looking for in something to connect my WA6 to my HD600s.    This new cable feels quite nice and is a very...

Woo Audio WA6 + WA6SE: Tubes, Comments, Pictures, and Advice

Brimar is dope, definitely go that route....Maybe a somewhat controversial opinion on the WA6 - but imo 6DE7 + Brimar is good. In retrospect not worth it to do 6SN7 adapters for $80+the tube cost unless you are interested in the cosmetic differences (6SN7 looks way more awesome than some tiny...

Woo Audio WA6 + WA6SE: Tubes, Comments, Pictures, and Advice

HiFiGuy528:   Thanks.    Do you have any very general comments on the rationale/thought process behind the PDPS? I know you probably don't want to say too much, but I am just generally interested.

Woo Audio WA6 + WA6SE: Tubes, Comments, Pictures, and Advice

EDIT: This question is in regards to my 2007 WA6.   One question - I saw a few people mentioned something about PDSD a few pages back, and how that was a feature that was included in all 09+ models. I have an 07 model, so I am assuming I don't have this...But what exactly is this acronym...

Woo Audio WA6 + WA6SE: Tubes, Comments, Pictures, and Advice

Mikeral:   Read through this page;   http://www.wooaudio.com/faq/   It has some troubleshooting tips for noise. I don't know about hiss, but for hum it has some helpful suggestions. I know in my current apartment, I have a lot of noise from one particular outlet - moved the amp to a...

    Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread

Has anyone had luck with any of cables for sale on Ebay?    Something like one of the links below:   http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sennheiser-Replacement-Cable-Fits-HD650-HD600-HD580-HD525-Headphones-/331754634122?hash=item4d3e1dfb8a:g:yK4AAOSwl8NVcGgK  ...

    Headphone recommendation, ~$700

Cool this is good, thanks. Those look interesting, I will read some reviews. Basically my position right now is, everyone says the LCD-2 is this amazing headphone, and I'm pretty set on getting a pair. However, I know there are options that I'm not considering, and I'm not planning on selling my...

    Headphone recommendation, ~$700

EDIT: Think of the ~$700 as more like a ceiling - obviously wouldn't mind spending less if I could get what I wanted at a lower price!   Looking for some new headphones.   I use a schiit Modi->Woo Audio WA6 (6SN7 tubes)-> HD600 right now.   Love the HD600, but I would like to try something...

Woo Audio WA6 + WA6SE: Tubes, Comments, Pictures, and Advice

Anyone have some closed headphone recommendations that pair well with the WA6?   I have the 6SN7 adapters and am willing to try out different tubes if necessary.   I have been thinking about picking up some high-impedance DT770s, which I think might pair well. It seems a lot of closed...

    Integrated+DAC (Peachtree Nova 65SE, NAD D7020, etc.)

Looking for a product in this price range (~$1,000, but not too strict on that) to replace a couple components from my current setup.   Right now I run a MisterX DAC->NAD Integrated 315->(tape out)WA6 with HD600 and Audioengine P4 speakers   Looking at adding some nicer bookshelf speakers...

Woo Audio WA6 + WA6SE: Tubes, Comments, Pictures, and Advice

I wasn't loving my WA6 as much as I did originally lately. It just wasn't doing it for me sonically, and I was about to sell it. (HD600 exclusively)   Then based on this thread I switched from a Sylvania 5V4GA rectifier to the Brimar.    It sounds much much better. At least it can keep up...

    Audiophile quality hip-hop....

I think a lot of new rap fans say they listen to "hip-hop" and that they don't like the "gangster stuff", which they lump people like Nas into.

    Audiophile quality hip-hop....

First throw some of your preconceived notions about Nas out the window; now, go pick up Illmatic. The production is sick. I listen to a bit (a lot) of rap, and it is my favorite both in terms of production and the actual rapping itself.   Also check out The Fugees - The Score. I've always...

Maybe you knew it already lol: Monster Cable vs Coat Hanger ;)

The biggest advantage to having legit speaker cables instead of hangar wire is the look. (....imo.) I actually like the way my cables look. Coat hangars would be a real good way to ruin my setup.

Thinking about upgrading from HD555's to HD650's

I'm not sure if you've already decided what you're going to do, but if I were you my first move would be to buy a good amp right now for your 555s, and if you still feel like you need more you can get the 650s later on. The 555s sound completely different after being properly amped, and after I...

In my case, if my college GPA drops, will it matter?

I remember waking up on graduation day and being bitched at all morning by my then long-time girlfriend who liked to go on long rants at me. When my parents got to my place they fussed at me quite a bit, too. I also remember graduating with the 20 or 30 other people in the Geosciences school...

Ideas to "Lift" my Audioengine A5's?

I use a couple of hardback books to elevate my speakers, though I'm not sure if this would work with the A5s, and I imagine the isolation is very poor, though I have no real frame of reference. Sounds pretty awesome to me, though, way better than when it was just sitting on my desk.

    Active/Passive speakers, receiver confusion, etc.

I would also consider just spending as much money as you can on speakers right now, and then maybe adding a sub later. The speakers are the most important part of the chain, and you definitely want to spend as much as you can on them. Subs are nice, but I assure you the second you fire up a pair...

Best Powered Desktop Speakers At Low dB

You're going to get a lot of recommendations for Audioengine a2s or a5s. I haven't heard the a2s, but the a5s are awesome, but they are $350 new. They sometimes sell b-stocks for about $250 though, and if I were you I would probably keep an eye open for that. Another option that gets recommended...
