foobar latency/stuttering
Faster storage helps as well. My library is now on SSDs and that ended the issue for me as well as the memory buffer bump, though not as big as suggested above.- Bloodoath

This is a fantasy DAC for most folks. I'd love to hear from anyone who's even sighted one of these.- Bloodoath

Most of the classical I have seems to lack some umpf when I play it. I've always chalk it up to the recordings not having enough impact.- Bloodoath

Denon AH-D7000
I meant, coming from my previous pair of headphones, these hit very hard and deep. I had to get use to them. I prefer clean accurate sound. I like clear clean highs with smooth powerful and detailed lows. I love it when the bass can be felt if not heard. These denons, in my view, can handle...- Bloodoath

I think these have great bass. Almost thought they had too much when I first got them. Curious as to what you think when you try them.- Bloodoath

Please help with "Upgradeitis"!
My view is fairly simple; start cheap. Decide if amps, DACs and such will provide any improvement to your listening experience. Get a fairly inexpensive DAC/AMP combo; E7 or uDAC would be a start and a good set of headphones. See if you like the experience; is it better than what you have...- Bloodoath

Quote: I think they sound very good with well recorded classical. A good amount of classical seems to be very quiet compared with other music so it does not have the impact of say most electronic music. But again this sound very good to me with most music.- Bloodoath

Music Fidelity V-Link
I just got mine a week or so ago. For regular 44.1kHz 16 bit files the difference is very slight if any from what I can tell. I'd say the sound is "clearer" so it does change the sound a bit. Biggest difference is a stronger(ei louder) signal through the s/pdif than the USB. I've wanted one...- Bloodoath
