    TEAC UD-301

I just tried a MacBook Pro (11,4) running Sierra 10.12.1, 16GB RAM through the UD-301 with no stuttering noticed even with hi-res audio files. I usually have it set up with a less powerful Mac Mini and it works fine there as well.

    TEAC UD-301

What software are you using for playback? Have you tried the Teac HR Audio Player as well?

And then there's DSD for those who care and the fact that Schitt seems to despise the format.

Well at least it's working on Windows.

    TEAC UD-301

Does anyone know if the UD-301 is able to take advantage of the DSD Native setting offered by the Teac HR Audio Player?   I'm on a Mac running OS X 10.11.4 and Teac HR Player 1.0.0.8 and I can use DSD over PCM but DSD Native remains disabled. Connection is via USB.   I sent a message to TEAC...

    TEAC UD-301

I'm listening to some 2.8MHz DSD files using the Teac HR Audio Player and have no playback issues when dragging items to or emptying the trash. I'm on a Mid 2011 Mac Mini (2.5GHz i5 with 4GB RAM) running OS X 10.10.2. The Teac HR Audio Player is version 1.0.0.4   What's your setup like?

Please file your request to have Audio MIDI Setup dynamically switch bit depth and sample rate relative to file playback with Apple - you don't need to be a developer, just use your Apple ID http://radar.apple.com    I sent my request in and the more people who let them know there is a need...

    TEAC UD-301

Although the UD-301 are now available outside Japan, there does not seem to be much buzz about them. Are they simply eclipsed by the UD-501 and / or the recent slew of DSD capable DACs that have hit the market?

    The Eclipse TD-M1 IN STOCK!

I signed up for the initial demo offering and I'm still looking forward to reviewing them. Given the amount of time that's passed since the initial offering, I hope I've not been dropped from the list...

    Oppo HA-1 Impressions Thread

Nice round up - thank you! FWIW, Teac claims that the UD-301 does DSD256 natively via USB. The Korg unit also claims native DSD support but I don't recall if it claims DSD256 support. Clearly the HA-1 has much more firepower than the other two :)

    Oppo HA-1 Impressions Thread

I'll need to revisit some of the players. It's been a while since I checked out Audirvana and I've not tried JRiver yet. Also, that Teac and Korg offer players is interesting to me particularly since both have models that claim to support DSD natively (DS-DAC-100 and UD-301 respectively)...

Sure, if it's clear that you need third party software, you can then ask the question as to which apps are supported or recommended. I appreciate that the CSR's at Oppo are responsive.

    Oppo HA-1 Impressions Thread

Fair enough. And to the CSA's credit, they replied to my question right away.   Just a suggestion, it might be helpful to folks who are relatively unfamiliar to mention that third party software is required for native DSD playback. There was no mention in the manual or on the product page...

    Oppo HA-1 Impressions Thread

Thanks for the replies. I asked oppo but their answer avoided the question - is third party software required. "You will want to use the Asynchronous USB from the Mac to the HA-1. This will give you the purest audio from your Mac to the HA-1 for converting to analog."   I've been using...

    Oppo HA-1 Impressions Thread

For users with the HA-1, how are you facilitating playback of DSD files? For example, if you are using a Mac as the source for DSD files, which app are you using so that the HA-1 can convert DSD to analogue?

Please recommend sub-1k DSD capable DAC+Amp

Thanks for the reply AS. It's not so much that I want to replace the Gilmore Lite as I want to get a better DAC with DSD thrown in. Since most DSD capable DACs I'm aware of feature a built in amp, I would basically be looking to reduce redundancy.

Please recommend sub-1k DSD capable DAC+Amp

I'm looking for a DAC to use in an office environment that will be exclusively with headphones.   I currently use the following:     Grado SR-328is   HeadAmp Gilmore Lite   iBasso D7   Mac Mini   The plan would be to replace the HeadAmp Gilmore Lite and iBasso D7 with a single unit that...

Korg ds-dac-10 USB 1-bit DSD DAC

This has been updated for Mac according to an announcement from Korg:   http://www.korg.co.jp/News/2013/0425/   Here's a google translation excerpt: It is a DS-DAC-10, but to update the relevant software at 14 April 25, today will respond to DSD native playback on Mac OS X. In...

I put my order in last week and am eagerly awaiting my D7 to arrive. I got notice from iBasso that the unit had been shipped and the EMS tracking page shows the 15th as the day they processed it . What is the expected turnaround from Hong Kong to California? Previously when I've had shipping...

    D7 Sidewinder....Initial impressions

Are you saying you prefer the D7 to the Bifrost? It seems like you're saying "I am hearing more low end resolution, texture and control...on the D7 compared to the Bifrost". I just want to make sure I'm understanding your statement correctly :) Quote:
