If your looking for ear "buds" then I say go with the yuin OK/PK series. If your looking for "IEM" I would look for something that wraps behind your ear so the microphonics are not that bad when your walking.

+1 on the PX100. Those and the Koss KSC75 were my first decent headphones. I decided to keep the KSC75 since the PX100 had a little too much bass for me.

Yes its the right power supply, and I would assume the voltage is ok since I used both power supplies on the amp and it works. I have a multimeter and I can test out the power supply voltage. Does anyone know the pin out for the plug? I'll also give HR a call.

With your $1100 budget I would take a look at the either the Headroom microstack or their desktop amp w/ DAC.

I think the Yuin PK and OK lines are the best way to go if you an earbud type headphone. The D1001 is nice but I don't think it will work well in gym getting all that sweat on the leather like ear pads on a closed headphone.
