iOS app with dual channel parametric EQ?

Thank you for going through the trouble of checking all those apps! I'll just download the Equalizer app and see if I can get the EQ to something close to what I expect--for $3.99 that's not a bad attempt, plus it'll save me a whole lot of trouble hard-encoding my entire music library (420-ish...

iOS app with dual channel parametric EQ?

Thanks for the suggestion! I just took a look at the app description (it's this one, right?) and I have a couple of follow up questions: 1) Does it support FLAC, or only formats supported by the iOS Music Library (I currently use Foobar2000 to import all my FLAC music directly)? 2) Does it...

iOS app with dual channel parametric EQ?

My left and right years have very different audio profiles, so much so that vocals generally sound like they're coming from my left when listening through un-EQ'd headphones, while other frequencies can appear to come from the right (bass and very high treble ranges, generally). So far I've...

The BEST full sized headphones for $30 USD or less (updated Nov. 27 2013)?

Quote:  Well put! I'm actually surprised there hasn't been a decent-sized thorough discussion and analysis on entry-level HP's for $40 or less that doesn't involve everyone unanimously agreeing on either the KSC75 or the PortaPros.   Oh well, different people with differing...

Are the Senn HD555 good for gaming?

Quote mralexosborn:   I hope that was sarcasm... There's no "magic gear", and there's really no "exclusive club" here, either... Everyone enjoys music using their own gear, and as long as you care about quality, and the never-ending pursuit for sonic perfection, then you can consider...

    NIN fans CHECK THIS OUT!

    What's wrong with HD 280's in a--*gasp*--studio?

    A totally un-unique problem.

I think the biggest downside with converting from MP3 to FLAC is that, if you ever want it in MP3 again, the re-conversion will degrade the quality further... Is it so bad to have some MP3's mixed with FLAC's?

Any way to add resistance to an output? (i.e. "lower" the volume)

Any way to add resistance to an output? (i.e. "lower" the volume)

The reason I ask is because both my TV and my old stereo system produces a constant (i.e. does not scale with volume) baseline noise that I can hear VERY clearly with a regular 32 or 64Ohm headphones, so I'm wondering if there's any way to add resistance (a "volume" control, so to speak) so that...

    Question about amps...

What's the difference between using an amp and say, cranking up the volume? Amps in principle should not distort the sound, but boost it equally across the frequency range, so if the output device is already capable of driving the headphones without an amp, what benefit would using a neutral...

Where to Buy S4 that ships to Canada?????

I don't see the problem with buying through eBay, especially if the seller has a great feedback rating . Other than eBay, it doesn't look like there's any outlet in Canada selling these currently . What you can TRY is to ask NCIX if they will do a special order (sometimes they do). There's no...

FiiO E5 - in New York City!?

eBay isn't a bad choice, but if you want them for rock solid price, I'd go with dealextreme.com (free shipping, as well). The only downside is that you HAVE to use Paypal with them. No direct credit card payments, so if you don't already own a Paypal account, prepare to jump through some hoops...

Couple of questions about the ksc-75s

Personally, I didn't notice any noticeable difference after doing the Kramer mod, but then, I also don't use an amp. I might try out the Fiio E5 amp since it's extremely cheap anyways . They're great for home listening or listening while studying at school or whatever, but during transit...

    Good Budget "Monitoring" headphones?

Right now I've tried both the HD 280 and the Audio Technica M30. The shop I went to doesn't have the Sony MDR-V6's (although from what I've read, they're not as good as the 280's or 7506's--which is out of my price range anyways). Is there a frequency response graph for the M30? The HD 280...

    Good Budget "Monitoring" headphones?

Thanks for the responses guys ^_^. Since I'll be using them on run-off-the-mill Mac's, I won't have access to any amp. So I suppose in that case the Sony MDR-V6 would be my best bet? But neutral being a requirement, would you guys still recommend the MDR-V6 over the HD280 under non-amp...

    Good Budget "Monitoring" headphones?

So I'm taking a course in "Sound Design", and the instructor sent an e-mail for us to get a headphone with "Neutral frequency response". The pertinent portions of the e-mail, verbatim: Quote: Additionally, each student should acquire and bring to the lab a pair of good headphones. By...

So I found two "potential" headphones to get (First pair of actual headphones I'll be buying... And when I mean my "entire life", I mean from back in the tape-player Walkman ages!), and I'm...
