Digital Sources for Portable Micro Amp (with DAC)
Presumably anyone who already has or plans to purchase the HeadRoom Portable Micro Amp (with DAC) has the intention (obvious) of using it almost entirely for portable use. Aside from a laptop being run similarly on battery power, what other digital sources (to feed its DAC) are being used or...- ascherjim

Suggestion to Tyll Re: Wal-Warts
Tyll: For over a year now I have been utilizing with great satisfaction your old-model Micro DAC (the one that can also run on two 9-volt batteries). Recently I have been in correspondence with Jeremy re purchase of a compatible Micro Amp. One of my concerns however, in my intended...- ascherjim

Media Player Options for FLAC?
I usually listen to flac-encoded music on my laptop's hard drive via SqueezeBox. with which I am very, very satisfied (understatement). However, there are occasions when I desire to listen to my laptop music (still flac-encoded) away from my SqueezeBox set up, i.e., in a more portable setting. I...- ascherjim

Micro DAC USB Hookup Query
I have one of the older, battery-option Micro DAC which has been serving me fine with a coaxial feed from my Squeezebox. I would also like to have the option of feeding and playing flac-encoded music to it directly from my laptop's hard drive through the laptop's USB port, i.e. a USB port to...- ascherjim

Feeding External DAC via Laptop's USB port
This query is one I initially posted in the nether regions of another thread but it apparently went unnoticed and was thus unanswered, hence this new thread. My query is clearly so basic and fundamental that I'm embarrassed to have to ask it. Will flac-converted music I have on my laptop's hard...- ascherjim

Lossless to DAC without computer?
Let me partially rephrase the question. Is it currently possible to transmit lossless digital music files (i.e., flac) directly to a DAC (then to an amplifier) without using a computer -- by some means other than having to use an iPod with a Wadia 170 iTransport?- ascherjim

External DAC with Rega Planet?
As the Rega Planet CD player has a built-in DAC, does it make any sense to instead feed a digital signal from it to an external DAC? I suppose what I'm really asking is how good is the unit's internal DAC? And if bypassing it is recommended, why bother with paying the extra cost of buying a CD...- ascherjim

What Build After Bottlehead S.E.X.?
I have just finished building the Bottlehead S.E.X. headphone amplifier kit and am very pleased initially with it's sound. (I'm still burning it in.) I prefer the sound of tube amplifiers, my first and other one being the Little Doc MKII, with which I am also pleased (after a modicum of tube...- ascherjim

Little Dot MKIV vs. MKIV SE
While I currently have a Little Dot MKII and am very pleased with it after a modicum of tube rolling, I need another tube amp for another household(!) and am considering moving up to a MKIV. Maybe this question has already been answered elsewhere in this forum, but I can't seem to find it if it...- ascherjim
